Not sure what happened with this recipe. First the dough wouldn't rise, then I had to let the individual rolls sit out over night and they had barely risen at all. They subsequently were dry and rather heavy. The were still okay out of the oven, but the cut and bake kind I had been making seemed so much better. I still have extra ingredients so I might try them again and see if they come out better. Anyone have any suggestions? On the up side my husband and 6 year old son both really liked them, little man even went back for seconds but my 4 year old only ate half of hers.
After my second attempt at this recipe I can honestly say they are wonderful! The second time I made sure the milk was not too hot before adding the yeast, secondly I made sure and followed the directions on here for turning out the dough which has to do with strectching it, folding it in on itself, and restreching it over and over, which helps it rise, and BOY DID IT EVER RISE!!! I turned it out and did the 'strech' thing before I rolled and cut the cinnamon buns out. they rose about 3x (possibally 4x) the original size. They came out soft, chewy and simply wonderful. I sent the left over 8 to work with my sister in law and husband, and by the time he got back to the shop there was only one left. I think that consitutes a success! For those who have these turn out abysimal the first time, definately try them again and see if
