Grilled Garlic Parmesan Zucchini

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
I chose to broil the zucchini since we had just had a snow storm. The recipe was quick and easy and the flavor was good. The zucchini was a little soft for my liking though. Perhaps I should have cooked them a little longer. I will definitely try these again on the grill.

Peanut Butter Fingers III

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
This bar does live up to the claim that it is quick and easy. I was surprised how quick it was done. I wasn't sure if the cornflakes were supposed to be a crust or be mixed in with the peanut butter mixture. So i kind of halfway mixed them. I also took them out of the pan to cut them since they are hard when refridgerated. I would equate them a little bit with scotcheroos with more peanut butter and more crunch. They are pretty sweet so cut the bars small.

Bada Bing Bada Banged Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
These potatoes were delicious! I only had baking potatoes so I cut them up before I cooked them. Since I cut the potatoes I did not smash them. Otherwise I followed the recipe. Very tasty!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This was a great easy soup that my family all loved! I put the carrots in to saute with the onion and celery so they were a little more tender. And added LOTS more noodles because that's how we prefer soup. But otherwise followed the recipe. Delicious!

Sweet Party Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
I had to cut the recipe down because I didn't have enough butter. But the ratios turned out fine. I used chex, a cup of peanuts a couple cups of cheerios, a couple cups of pretzels. I had a disposible roasting pan so I figured I would just let it cool in that. Big mistake! Use the wax paper! The coating cooled and formed a big glob of mixture. I was able to break it apart but it was somewhat time consuming. After I had it in containers I added some M&M's. Very sweet treat.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
I made these for Christmas and everyone loved them. I waited around 45 minutes before I crumbled up the cake and the frosting stirred in easily. After rollling them into balls I put them in the fridge overnight so I could frost them the next day. I used chocolate cake with white frosting and white coating. Dunking them was a little challenging. the toothpick wasn't strong enough to support them so we used a kabob stick. They were delicious and I can't wait to try other combinations.

Tater Tot Casserole III

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
This is a great classic. I used a small bag of frozen vegetables and a pound of hamburger (half turkey burger). Some other tater tot casserole recipes call for cheese, but I don't miss it and with the extra veggies this is a healthier version.

Chocolate Earthquake Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
I made the cake as instructed except I used the suggestion to layer the chocolate and cream cheese. The cake turned out very moist and delicious. It reminded me of a german chocolate cake with the coconut and pecans. Next time I would cut back the amout of pecans, since I am not too big of a fan of nuts in desserts.

Death by Chocolate and Caramel

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
These brownies came out really fudgy and rich, but the caramel was a little chewy for my liking. I followed the advice to melt the caramels for easy distribution, but didn't have any half and half or evaporated milk. I will try these again with that modification. I also only used about 10 oz of caramel and 4 hershey's bars. I can see how chocolate chips could be easier than breaking up the bars into pieces, but the sweet milk chocolate really makes a difference.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
I would give this more than 5 stars if possible. I followed the recipe except omited the salt and used a little less oil and sugar. The flavor was delicious and the chicken was tender and moist. Mincing the fresh rosemary took a while so next time I will try dried to see if there is a difference. Can't wait to use this recipe again!

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
I didn't have a lot of these ingredients fresh so I used garlic powder, dried basil and omited the hot pepper sauce. The flavor was really good. The first night I tried to make this recipe I didn't read it well enough and hadn't cooked the chicken, This really adds prep time unless you do it ahead of time, I would have given it 5 stars except there really isn't much of a sauce so the pasta can be a little plain if you don't have a bite of tomato or chicken with it. Nice healthy dish.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
I found these a little time consuming to make, but that could be do to it being the first time I made them and the little hands that were helping me. I made no changes to recipe. I found that if I rolled the chocolate dough flat and long and rolled up the peanut butter ball inside like a taco I was then able to pinch the ends shut and gently roll it to be more circular. I ended pretty much even with chocolate and peanut butter dough. I will definately make these again and take the advice to refrigerate the filling for a few minutes

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
For starters I halved the recipe, which worked well other than it was still a lot of cheese. Then I followed another reviewers suggestion of layering the meat and cheese instead of rolling it. Since I was doing half a recipe I used a glass 8x8 dish, put half the meat down, then the cheese, then the rest of the meat. I topped it with a mixture of ketcup, musturd and worchestershire sauce. My bake time was more like 40 minutes since it was a smaller portion. This was a good variation on standard meatloaf!

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
My family loved this recipe. I bought a whole turkey breast which made enough turkey to freeze half. I also added mushrooms to the recipe.

Chicken Potato Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
Like other reviewers I had to cook this longer to get the potatoes done. I left them in fairly big chunks, so next time I will try to make them closer to an inch. I also used boneless chicken breasts.

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
These were easily the best cookies I have made because I am notorious for messing up even the premade cookies. The dough was pretty tough to mix and almost overheated my hand mixer but the end result was delicious chewy cookies. I used only 3 cups of flour and 2 tsp of vanilla. I also made them a bit smaller so they only needed 12-13 minutes. This will be my chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Homestyle Chicken and Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This was a really quick recipe that got both my kids to eat broccoli and cauliflower. The biscuits only got done on the top half though. Next time I will bake the biscuits seperately. Also the canned chicken is very easy, but it would probably be better with chicken breast cut up.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
I only had baby carrots so I tried to slice them thinly. They didn't get as soft as I'd like. I also left the potatoes a little big so they took longer than the recipe stated. Very yummy creamy soup.

Zucchini and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
Other than the time it takes to prep the veggies this is a quick and easy side dish. I followed the recipe exactly except I sprinkled a little parmesan on top. Next time I might cut the potatoes a little smaller to speed up the cook time. Very tasty.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I didn't have fresh basil so I used the dried basil in my spice rack. It was still very good but next time I will buy fresh. Very easy to make and a yummy side dish.
