Reviewed: May 20, 2014
This was wonderful! Made it using a sweet and spicy mustard, (did not have any Grey Poupon on hand) and let it meld for a couple of hours. The possibilities are endless....thanks Celeste!

Jan's Good-N-Crusty Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2012
Excellent Bread! Fortunately I made both loaves at once as my boys dove in while it was still warm with great enthusiasm. I rolled it up for baking like you would a french bread, has great texture, nice crust, and wonderful flavor. UPDATE: Have made this many times now since the first time. Am now making it with half whole wheat flour, turns out great! Made two loaves yesterday, gone today! Thanks Jan!

Fresh Peach Dessert

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Everyone loved this! I microwaved the mini marshmallows and milk at 50% power for 45 seconds twice, stirring after each time increment which makes quick work of the melting marshmallow step. For the crumb base I subbed 1/2 ginger snap cookies and processed them in the food processor with the graham cracker crumbs and the butter. I reserved 1/2 cup to sprinkle on top just because the crumbs were so tasty! Used a chilled bowl and beaters which helped with the whipped cream on such a hot and toasty day! I will definitely make this again! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Scarlett's Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
This was great! Added extra diced green/red peppers, zucchini, grated carrots (slide those veggies in where you can), 1/4 cup shakey parmesan cheese, used regular crushed tomatoes so added extra dried basil and oregano and a little brown sugar. Threw it all in the slow cooker, served over WW egg noodles with a sprinkle of real parmesan on top. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This turned out great!! It made two pie plates worth, one spicy, one not. For the spicy one, I mixed 1/2 can green chillies with 1/2 the taco seasoning into the beans and spread in the bottom of the pie plate, mixed the fat free cream cheese and fat free sour cream, 1/2 the taco seasoning, 1/2 can green chillies and spread that on the bean layer, spread the medium salsa next, layered light cheddar cheese and Jalapeno Monteray jack, then diced green onions and diced tomatoes, sliced olives and diced & sliced jalapeno pepper. Baked in oven at 350 for 30 minutes and served with toasted baguette slices and assorted crackers. It was a huge hit!! Thanks for sharing your recipe!!

Basic Chicken Stock

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This turned out amazing!! I used some frozen chicken carcasses, added bayleaf, garlic, and some peppercorns, simmered for several hours...strained...refrigerated....once cooled..skimmed fat...and froze in ice cube trays (4 full cubes = 1/4 cup {approx}) keep in freezer bag ready to use....soooo much better than store bought!! UPDATE...I have found that roasting the carcass along with the vegetables and onions adds another level of flavor to the stock.

This is a great dessert!! Used one can Low fat Sweetened condensed milk(Canadian can=a little over 10 oz), sugar free caramel topping (I just combined the two and stirred), toffee bits, mini chipits, and fat free whipped topping. Wow!! So good!! Very moist, next time, there will be a next time, I will reduce the number of eggs in the cake when I make it. Thanks for sharing your recipe!! UPDATE: Made again and everyone loved it!! Used one less egg (used 2 this time, and cake had more structure, less soggy)!!

Caraway Rye Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
Great bread!! Made the dough in my bread machine. I doubled the caraway seeds, (I like them), added 1 Tbsp vital wheat gluten as I wanted a softer less dense bread, brushed the top with egg and sprinkled with more caraway seeds. Thanks for sharing your recipe!!
