Crunchy Chicken and Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2013
This is good. Simple. Inexpensive to make, few ingredients. Wasn't sure about the thickness of my chicken breasts with the short baking time and high temps, but came out perfect. I threw the rest of the stuffing mix in a pan with less water, less butter than called for and was able to get rid of the remaining stuff mix and had a side dish. This was fixed day after Christmas, I am exhausted, used the already made mashed potatoes in the refrigerated section of the store that just get microwaved, steamed some brussel sprouts and boom! Dinner was done.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2013
I had recently grilled turkey burgers that I bought fresh from the store already formed into patties. I am trying to get my husband to eat some healthier foods - he just could not even finish that turkey burger, hated it. I found this recipe and thought I would try again, told him there was lots of good stuff it in. We put them on wheat buns with some romaine and a little bit of light mayo and we both thought they were delicious. I am stoked now to have this recipe, I will read through the reviews to see if anyone had good luck with any changes or additions, but I fixed exactly per recipe and grilled them on gas grill and thought it was delicious.

Cranberry Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
Easy and very tasty. I did not use wine, I am sure that would have tasted great but I did not want to open a bottle to use 1/4 cup and then be tempted to drink more - trying to watch my calories! I probably should have diluted the soup with something else but I didn't and it still tasted very good. Loved the cranberries in this recipe! I will fix this again!

Hot Maryland Crab Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2012
I live in Maryland and crab dip is ever present...this is a classic. I prepared exactly as written with the exception of adding more Old Bay and it needed to stay in the oven a bit longer than 20 minutes to warm completely through. Served it with hot pretzel sticks we picked up from the local hot pretzel bakery. Looking forward to the left overs - would work well over grilled chicken (Chicken Chesapeake)!

Pork Chops to Live For

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
Simple enough but really bland. I had not read any reviews prior to making, had to laugh at one reviewer's statement about experienced cooks know how to season. I fixed the recipe as typed, was rated as almost 5 stars, apparently 5 star after lots of adjustments. I won't bother again.

Sweet and Sour Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
I loved this. Tried to take a little from all the reviews, I did leave the lemon pepper in but reduced it some. I had five huge chicken breasts so I ended up tripling the bread crumbs, I think I used 3 t of lemon pepper. There was some left but I hate when I run out. Someone said they browned the breasts whole and then cut them and finished cooking in oven. That worked great! I cooked the sauce and when the chicken was cooked I poured it over. I did quadruple the sauce, added a bit of soy, pineapple chunks, used the pineapple juice instead of water (all suggestions from previous reviewers). I cooked boil in bag brown rice and did a stir fry broccoli with a little more lemon pepper. I thought this was an easy recipe but looked restaurant quality. Chicken breasts I used were huge and I cut them into really large chunks, made a really nice presentation.

Ultimo's No-Bake Blueberry Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
I hadn't read the reviews before I made it today - there is nothing wrong with the flavor but I really thought I did something wrong because the fruit filling did not firm up at all. It's kind of like eating a cheesecake mousse. The photo presently being used with this recipe actually looks pretty much like mine did. Doesn't really work well cutting into bars, I truly think it would work better being served in little pudding dishes. Also, as I read on one of the reviews, adding the vanilla was left out of the instructions so you could very well miss it. It did taste good, but I wished it would have had a more firm texture.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
Seemed like they should be refrigerated but they taste much better at room temp, the peanut butter layer is creamier that way.

Beef and Bean Chimichangas

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Easty to make and tasty, everyone in the family liked them but way too much cheese, easily could cut by half. Probably even a quarter.

Simple Texas Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Loved this. Easy. Reminds me exactly of the salsa of a popular Mexican food restaurant in town. I wouldn't change a thing.

Bacon and Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
Very tasty. Only cooking for 2 now, so I recalculated for 4 servings (still over 1 cup per serving). I am following Weight Watchers right now so I only used 4 slices of bacon, substituted whole grain pasta, used light mayo, light sour cream and spenda. I also forgot about the egg so I didn't use that and skipped the celery. It was very good, I love the sweet taste with the vinegar.

I liked it but it could use a little tweaking I think.

Cola Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
I love sauerkraut, but I didn't love this. If I made it again I would only use enough butter to cook the onions in. I did not like the butter taste.

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Just ok...kind of reminded me of hamburger helper, maybe a step up. No one said one word at dinner, whether they liked it or not. I did not remove the lid as other reviewers recommended and the rice did turn out perfect. 6 servings may be stretching it a bit, had to supplement with big salads and corn on the cob. I love spicy, but I didn't mind the sweetness of the dish, but it was just ok.

Chicken Scampi II

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
This was delicious. I was trying to make it for five people and the sauce didn't quite go around but the taste was wonderful and the whole picky family liked it. Daughter spoke up first and said "this is good", then the others piped in as well. I was loving it. I made it exactly as printed. I did use jarred garlic and it splattered like crazy, but it tasted wonderful.

Grilled Pineapple

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
I loved the presentation, would never have thought of quartering it and leaving the top on, the maple syrup was idenfiable but not overwhelming and gave the fruit a pretty glaze. I did run a knife down the across the bottom and then sliced it and put each quarter on a platter to serve. There was non left.

Gingerbread Pear Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
As other reviewers said, it was soggy, but as it cooled completely it firmed up. I think it was very nice, we topped with whipped cream, not too sweet. I think it could have stood a bit more zang but is a good middle of the road flavor to please the masses. It does look very nice.

Beauty of this one is, no precision required. Sprinkle and pour - whatever you think would be good. We add the bacon bits and the french fried onions. It's delicious.

Unbelievable Chicken

Gave it a 3. Actually ended up in the marinade for an extra 24 hours. It has a nice taste, but nothing really special, think you could get the same effect with any store bought marinade.
