Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
This is SOOO good! It's pretty time-consuming, but it is so worth it! I've never baked homemade bread before, and the recipe was easy to follow and turned out GREAT! I followed another user's advice and doubled the honey. I invited the 8 year old little girl across the street to help me make it, and we had a blast! Thanks so much!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
This is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The only thing I did differently is use 1 1/2 cups of coconut milk and 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream. I made this for my Dad for a present as coconut cream pie is his all time fav - and it was gone so quickly! It is to die for! Thanks so much!

Wasabi Encrusted Tuna Steaks

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
I think the flavor of this would have been really good, but the "crust" burned and quite frankly, burned wasabi just doesn't taste good. I also managed to overcook the tuna, but that's not the recipe's fault - it's mine. I will try this again though, because we love both tuna and wasabi around here. When I try again, I'll use wasabi paste you can buy in a tube from the store and use it as a glaze.

Crustless Zucchini Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
OH MY GOSH this recipe is fabulous! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out AWESOME! I will definitely make this again. I might try subbing melted butter next time instead of oil ...

Mexican Rice III

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
This was very good! I left out the spicy stuff because I'm a wuss, but this was an asbolutely fabulous recipe. I used all chicken stock instead of bouillon cubes and water and it came out great. I felt the flavor was a little heavy on the cilantro, so next time I make it I'm going to reduce the amount of fresh cilantro I put in at the end. And take the advice from other users and don't peek at the rice while it's simmering! :)

Sesame Tilapia

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
This is OH so tasty! I let it sit in the marinade for about 1.5 hours and then drizzled a little extra sesame oil over the top before I baked it. It turned out GREAT and I will definitely make it again! I like a bit more extreme flavor, so next time I'm going to double the "marinade" and use half of it to marinate and half of it to spread as a glaze over the fish before I bake it!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
Holy smokes these are good! I doubled the recipe but only used three eggs in a 9x13. It was so good the first time that the second time I dared to add something. I stirred about a half a package of chocolate chips into the batter, then sprinkled some pecans on top before popping it in the oven. My husband said they were AWESOME!! (Oh, and this was my first time ever making brownies!)

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
These were really good! I guess I cooked the garlic too long though? There wasn't anything to "squeeze" out of them - they were just mush! So I just mashed them up along with the potatoes which gave them such a great garlic flavor. We loved it!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
OH MY GOSH this made the most moist turkey breast I have EVER had. This was my first Thanksgiving to ever cook a turkey and it came out SO awesome! The only thing I did differently was to cook it breast down, and then flipped it breast up for those last 45 minutes to let it brown. The skin wasn't super crispy, but the moist and tender breast was so worth that! Thanks a bunch!
