Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles II

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
These cookies were delicious! I was very excited to find a recipe using whole wheat flour. As other reviewers suggested, I used 2c. whole wheat flour and only 3/4 c. all-purpose. I also added a dash of vanilla extract and cinnamon in the dough before baking it. I will definitely make these again!!

Strawberry-Sauced Crunchy Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
I halved this recipe and other than that, followed it to a T. I'm not sure what all the excitement is about, b/c everyone seems to like this recipe. I did not like it AT ALL. The flavors did not mix very well and the sauce was too liquidy, too sweet.

Chocolate Mousse Cake IV

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
The mousse was DELICIOUS! I followed the recommendations of others and added the cream of tartar to the whipping cream and definitely made sure that it whipped up to stiff peaks. Took awhile, but I think it was worth it. This was very rich cake, I used devil's food cake, good, but probably a little too rich for me to have again.

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
I made this recipe for my boyfriend last night because he really wanted meatballs! I thought these were a great healthy option with the turkey. I added a pinch of salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. They baked as recommended and were really pretty good! I think I'll have to make these again!

Peanut Butter Cake V

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
This cake was AMAZING. I made it for my grandfather's birthday because I know he likes peanut butter pie. The only thing I did different was add chocolate chips on the top, and it was delicious. I did have to bake it about 10-15 minutes longer than the recipe suggested. The cake was very moist and not too much peanut butter state, which was great b/c I generally hate a strong peanut butter taste. My family LOVED this recipe, especially my boyfriend who's hard to please with cake recipes! :) I will DEFINITELY make this again!

Pineapple Cracker Spread

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
This is probably my favorite recipe I've gotten off this site! It couldn't be more perfect- it's creamy, smooth, sweet and delicious! The longer it chills, the better it tastes! I wrote the recipe down, lost it, and had to come back for it. :) It's a keeper!

Corn Zucchini Skillet

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
I loved this! I had a few changes...when I cut open my summer squash it didn't look too good, so I threw it out and replaced it with red and green bell peppers. Delicious!

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
20 minutes in my oven burned the crust...and continuing with the recipe just turned the whole crust black. The lemon topping was also terrible looking - I would NOT recommend making this recipe the same as listed!!! It's a waste of your time and ingredients. The recommendations many refer to where you double the topping is a great one - that worked perfect the 2nd time around! Thanks to that reviewer!!!

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
The pie tasted GREAT, especially with the addition of raisins and walnuts. My only complaint is that there was a lot of water left in the pie pan. I don't know if that's the kind of apple I used? I had a lot of golden delicious left from an apple-picking expedition that were very good. The crumb topping was delicious as well!

Cheese Ravioli with Three Pepper Topping

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This was a very good recipe and a refreshing change from the normal ravioli we're used to making. I did make a few changes...I used about 1 1/2 c.'s of broth b/c 2 just seemed like too much. I also thickened the broth with some cream as another reviewer suggested. Because I only had frozen chopped green peppers in the house, that's what I used. I'll be keeping this in the recipe box for future use. Thank you for the recipe!!

Texas Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
Very good frosting - it doesn't have that "too sweet" taste that I usually dislike about frosting. Really enjoyed, and perfect on top of the "One Bowl Chocolate Cake" from this site! Thank you for the great frosting recipe!

Bountiful Garden Zucchini Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
With my modifications, 5 stars. I don't use tomatoes but cover them in salsa instead. Because I have the liquid from the salsa, I also don't add the milk into the sauce mixture. It comes out very thick - but I just mix all of that into the zucchini mixture and it tastes wonderful when it comes out of the oven!

Barbecue Ham Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
I can't give this a five because I changed it so much! But with my alterations...i give it a 5! I was looking for a quicker recipe, so I used refrigerated pizza dough instead. The bbq sauce I used was raspberry chipotle, and I just put however much I wanted rather than sticking with any measurements. Lastly, the cheese I used was Fontina (it was on sale!) instead of Gouda, still mixed with the mozzarella cheese. With all of these alterations...it was magnificent!! Will definitely make again :)

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
LOVED THESE! We felt like we were eating at Panera Bread but sitting at our own kitchen table! I couldn't find Focaccia bread in the grocery store, so I bought an italian loaf and just sliced it into sandwich size to grill. I also topped the veggies with southwest seasoning and put them in foil so they didn't fall through the grill. Either way, this will definitely be a regular in our house now! Thank you for a wonderful recipe!

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
I followed this recipe to the T...but I still wasn't a huge fan. I saved this sometime last year to try when the season chili came back around...but I really didn't like it. I found myself digging for the sour cream because that's what gave it it's flavor. Without the sour cream, it was pretty bland, which was a waste of my fresh ingredients. I won't be making this again.

Fire-Roasted Tomato and Spinach Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
Delicious! I noticed that in many of the reviews people were adding spices to make it more flavorful...and in some hotter! I never use fire roasted tomatoes, and these were HOT! Or maybe it was the hot red pepper flakes I put on it :) Either way, very good recipe and my only change was to add an onion. Very good!

Citrus Chocolate Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
I actually thought these were kind of gross. I'm not sure why mine seemed to turn out so much differently than the other reviewers because this has been rated pretty favorably. I followed the recipe exactly and they cooked for just the right amount of time...but the flavor was just not what I was expecting from a chocolate cupcake.

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2010
I can't rate this a 5 because I changed one of the main ingredients...but these were DELICIOUS! I used peanut butter chips instead of white chocolate chips. I LOVE these chips (I could eat them by themself all day long!) and adding them to this recipe made it perfect! Thanks for a great recipe! :)
