Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2013
This recipe made exactly what was promised: big, fat, chewy cookies. I greased one pan and they got crispy around the edges, but I didn't grease the other pan and they turned out exactly like the picture. I didn't chill my dough, though next time I might chill it for awhile to make them even fluffier. I think combining semi-sweet chocolate chips with pure milk chocolate chips could add even more of a gourmet feel to this recipe.

Cinnamon Hazelnut Biscotti

Reviewed: May 15, 2012
This recipe was fantastic. The bake time was correct, the estimate of cookies made was correct, and it made delicious biscotti that held together and were just slightly chewy. I used hazelnut pieces with the skin on, and the cookies did not taste bitter to me. I would definitely make this recipe again as is, or possibly drizzled with milk chocolate or white chocolate on top.

Triple Chocolate Biscotti

Reviewed: May 15, 2012
This recipe tasted great! I found that I couldn't make as many cookies as suggested because slicing it that thin caused the biscotti to break. I ended up with about 25 biscotti instead. Since my biscotti were larger I had to leave them in the oven longer to dry out properly. To add a gourmet finish I melted chocolate chips and spread melted chocolate along one side of each cookie.

Wine Jelly

Reviewed: May 15, 2012
I used two 3 oz pectin packs instead of one 2 oz powder pectin pack, and my jelly set up beautifully. The jelly has a definite wine aroma, and as a nondrinker I still thought it had a wine taste to it, although the alcoholic aftertaste was gone. This will get mixed reviews, even from wine lovers. One wine lover in my household adored it and thought it was a novel concept, and the other thought it was weird, even when it was served with cream cheese and crackers as recommended. I think including a mini recipe booklet of recipes to use this with would be helpful, especially including things like cakes drenched in melted wine jelly, or using it as the base of a sauce.

Snickerdoodles II

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
This is the recipe my grandmother used which made me originally fall in love with snickerdoodles. I don't have cream of tartar on hand normally so I look for recipes without, but this recipe turns out slightly soft, slightly light, and delicious cookies.
