J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
This is a simple but great recipe. I substituted magarine for the shortening. I also melted a little magarine & brushed the tops of the biscuits. This is a keeper!

Pour-A-Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Tasty meal that is similiar to pizza but don't expect too much from the crust or you will be disappointed. It is what it is...on hand ingredients. This recipe was easy enough for my teens to make alone. I made it again & tried to improve it.I added some itailan seasoning to the dough mix before baking. My kids LOVE it but not hearty enough for the hubby.

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
These came out really good and tasty once I got the oil heat just right. If the oil is too hot they will burn!

Blueberry Muffins I

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
I read the reviews before making this recipe & added salt, vanilla, doubled the sugar & blueberries. I also used buttermilk & increased the oil by 1/4 of a cup. With these adjust the muffins came out perfect. Remember not over mix then fold the blueberries in.

Peanut Butter Cookies IV

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
This is a really good recipe! I tried the first batch with the sugar on top & it was too sweet. The next batch I left off the sugar & they came out better. They were still slightly too sweet. In the future I will reduce the sugar a little more. `

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
This is a great recipe. The taste is light and fluffy but not like Krispy Kreme. The yeast flavor was a little over powering too me. It was kind of like a light & fluffy fried yeast roll in a glaze. Anyway, my family loved them & they came out picture perfect. I ran out of glaze & had to make more. Next time I will double the glaze.

Plain Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
The actual donut come out good once I got the frying temperture correct. At least first they were cooking too fast. I decided to use powdered sugar instead of cinnamon & sugar. They were fine while fresh but later the oil started comiing through the sugar and they became a soggy mess.If you stick to the recipe you probaly will be fine.

Glazed Cinnamon Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
This recipe was very easy and my family loved them. Don't be deceived, the recipe title did say biscuits. This is a cinnamon biscuit recipe but it does taste similar to a cinnamon bun. I added a little sugar to the mix. I also added more butter and a tad bit more milk. Very light & fluffy.

Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
I made a few changes to this recipe. I did not have time to marinate and only had leg & thighs on hand. I seasoned my meat with ground ginger, garlic powder & black pepper. Then I browned the meat in a little oil. I placed the chicken in my roaster at 375 and cooked it in the marinade for 1 1/2 hrs while basting several times. I doubled the sauce but I did not double the soy sauce or sugar but added more water to it. I feared it would be too salty, even using reduced sodium soy sauce. It was not, but a little too sweet. I used brown sugar & the color was great. My family would love for me to make this again minus a little sugar.

My family loved this recipe.I used dark meat (8 leg quarters) intead of white. My husband likes a lot of meat. I removed the skin & boiled the meat after seasoning it with season all, onion, garlic & curry powder also black pepper. I added an onion & bell pepper also a celery stalk. No need to chop it up just cut in half & throw in pot to boil. I also use the stock from my meat & increased the liguid after reading other reviews.I used frozen peas & carrots. Next time I will add a few potatoes.I was able to make three pies by increaing the meat.
