Cod Fish Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2012
Didn't make any changes to the recipe, and the family loved it, even my normally picky kids!

Venison Gyros

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
I've made this exactly as written three or four times now. And my family devours it. I stuff it inside Peppy's Pita Bread (found on this website) and pour Yia Yia's Tzatziki Sauce (also found on this website) on top. Yum! Yum!

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
Yum! This is definitely a keeper! Only changes I made was to use ground turkey instead of beef, and to use a can of crushed tomatoes (I added italian seasonings) instead of using a jar of spaghetti sauce. Also, another reviewer said to cook the ravioli before making the recipe. I found that I didn't need to. It was great as is!

Grilled Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
Absolutely delicious! My husband substituted his favorite hot sauce (the Blazing Sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings) instead of the Louisiana hot sauce. I made a separate batch for me and the kids (we don't care for foods too spicy), I substituted bbq sauce instead of the hot sauce and omitted the cayenne pepper. Both batches of wings turned out great! We will definitely be making these many, many more times!

Macaroni 'n' Cheese for Two

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
I was looking for an economical homemade mac n cheese for my kids and I for lunch. I've tried this recipe twice now, and don't care for it. The first time, I tried heating the sauce in the microwave as another reviewer suggested. The second time, I followed the recipe exactly. Both times the texture and consistency lacked creaminess. It was almost gritty. Even my kids turned up their noses at this. I will not be trying this recipe again.

Best Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
This is by far the easiest guacamole recipe that I have tried! My husband always likes a little bit of spice, so I add 1/4 c. of salsa, and chop half a fresh jalapeno. I also find it best to use very ripe avocados, otherwise my wrist gets sore when trying to mash them.

Zucchini Pie II

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
My husband thought this was apple pie until he found a zucchini seed. (I didn't seed the zucchini) It was absolutely great! I've made it twice now and the whole family loves it!

Never Fail Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
I have always HATED rolling out pie crusts. Nothing else can make me more angry and frustrated than a pie crust that just won't cooperate. That is until I found this recipe. It is so EASY! I've used it twice now. The first time I just pressed the dough into the pie plate. The second time, I rolled it (without any frustration!). Both pies came out beautiful!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
Scrumptious! I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe. My two year old just gobbles them up. After breakfast was over, she kept asking for pancakes throughout the rest of the day. By the time the day was through, she'd eaten seven of them!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
The taste of these peppers was great! I used ground turkey instead of beef (just a personal preference for healthier eating. I also used a can of diced tomatoes instead of dicing whole ones. And I discovered that I only needed one can of tomato soup instead of two.

Corn and Zucchini Melody

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
AWESOME! The veggies were so tender without being overcooked and mushy. Sauteeing them in the bacon grease also added a ton of flavor. Will definitely be making again.

Chili Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
I found this WAY TOO SWEET. I will definitely cut the amount of sugar the next time. Also after tasting it, I thought it was missing something, and I read the ingredients off of the empty bottle of store bought chili sauce that I had. I then added 1/4tsp. of onion powder, 1/4 tsp. of garlic powder, and 1/2 tsp. of chili powder. It really improved it. (Besides, I don't know why you would name a recipe 'chili sauce' when there's no chili in it.)

Easy, Cheesy Zucchini Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
My husband and I loved this dish (and he normally grimaces when I fix zucchini). It was a bit watery though. Maybe next time I'll serve it over rice to fix that. Overall. . . delicious!

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
This is the best syrup ever!!! Never again will I be buying store bought syrup. The other reviews were absolutely right when they said it tastes like a liquid cinnamon roll. Yum. Yum. Yum. (Be sure you use a large saucepan to contain all the froth and foam.)

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
I've made this recipe for my family now several times, and it's always a hit! I enjoy cooking from scratch, and after making this, I will never use a tuna noodle recipe that calls for canned soup.

Candy Crunch Pudding Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
I made this recipe exactly according to the directions. It is awesome. I used to make just a regular chocolate pudding pie every year for my husband's birthday - not anymore! My kids, my husband, and my in-laws loved it. And there's extra pudding mixture left over for anyone who likes to lick the bowl :)

Braunschweiger Spread

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
Several months ago, my husband had tried a similar braunschweiger spread made by his coworker's mom. After he raved about it for a couple of days, I decided to try to find the recipe online. I found this recipe to be the closest to what he thought was in the other one he tasted. After I tasted it, I was hooked as well. It is awesomely tasty and very easy to make.
