Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
These are very good pretzels! Even my husband, who does not like pretzels, loves these. Note, you really have to roll the dough long and thin if you do not want the pretzels to "smoosh together" when cooking. Of course, even if they do, they are still good. :o)

Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
I have been making this recipe for years now. The only difference is that I use shredded cheese instead of slices. It is always a hit. I bake it at 360 degrees for 40 minutes. That seems to be the perfect combination for my oven. It is also an easy recipe to make ahead of time. I quite often assemble it the night before (minus the milk), add the milk when I am ready to cook it, and throw it in the oven. It makes what is already a simple recipe even easier, at least for me. I cook it in a 13x9 pan. A glass dish seems to work better than a metal dish to keep everything moist.

Five Ingredient Ice Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
DELICIOUS!!! I am not a big ice cream fan, but this is absolutely divine. My husband agrees wholeheartedly and told me I can never get store-bought ice cream again. I did not have the problem some others noted about it freezing rock solid. Mine was in the freezer overnight and this morning it was the perfect ice cream consistency. Maybe something to do with how long the cream is whipped??? I am looking forward to experimenting with other flavors. Thanks!

Cheddar Chicken Spaghetti

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Simple and very good! My husband is not a big fan of pasta (actually it is red sauces he does not like) and my 2-year old loves anything involving pasta. So this was a perfect recipe for us. It did not have red sauce, but still had the pasta component that the little one loves. And I also thought it was delicious. Thanks!

Candy Bar Cookie Squares

Very good. I made these for a bake sale and they were a hit. And it is awesome that they are SO easy. I can let me 2 year old help!

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
I have to say, these did not really have much taste at all! I did not pour sauce over the pork chops after they cooked. Maybe that was the problem??? I had assumed cooking in the sauce would hold SOME of the flavor. NOPE! Even just salt and pepper alone make better pork chops than these. I did use salt and pepper, but the sauce seemed to wash it off. Oh well! We will not make these again.

Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
Very good flavor. I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I should say that I did not cook the chicken in butter. Once seasoned with the mix, I sprayed cooking spray over both sides to moisten it a bit. I also should have sprayed the pan because some of the flour/seasoning mix stuck to the pan. I know for next time, and I will definitely use this recipe again. It is quick and easy and very tasty.

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
OMG! So good!!! As many others suggested, I added some milk chocolate chips to the mixture. If you are a fan of cookie dough, this could possibly be the best I have ever tasted (even though not exactly "cookie dough"). I tasted one of these yesterday after allowing them to cool and I had another one today. They were even better today.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
This was good, but not great. Definitely not the best I have ever had. I followed the recipe exactly, and it tasted super salty to me (and I like salt)! My daughter had the same opinion as me, but my husband enjoyed it a bit more so. If I make it again, I would totally omit any added salt. However, I probably will not make it again. I find the recipes using jarred sauce taste just as good and cut the time by 3/4.

This was super yummy garlic bread! The flavors were not overwhelming, as garlic can often be.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

I actually did bake these for a bake sale. :o) They sold out. Very easy to make and very good, and I don't even like lemon bars!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I made these Easter morning & got rave reviews! I made 2/5 of the recipe and it was PLENTY for 6 adults & 2 toddlers (along with eggs, sausage, and bacon). If you make this recipe as is, you will have enough to feed 20! But the pancakes were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be saving this as my "pancake recipe".

Irish Soda Farls

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
My Irish husband has been wanting to figure out how to make soda farls since he moved to the US 8 years ago. Had I known they were so easy, I would have done it ages ago! I added 1 teaspoon of salt into recipe. His smile said it all. He did add that they were EXACTLY like home.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
The flavor was good (my husband liked it better than I did) but it was not done cooking after 40 minutes. I ended up taking it out of the oven and zapping it in the microwave to finish cooking it so that I could serve it with dinner.

Cheesy Chicken and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
Not good at all- the potatoes were not cooked nearly enough and we ended up having to throw it into the microwave to cook it enough to even be edible.

Cindy's Turkey Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
This recipe was really easy and my husband absolutely adores it. As he likes spicy food, we made this with 2 jalapeno peppers. What a great way to use up leftover turkey!

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2001
My husband is Irish and has only been in the US a year. He said the bread was really good, but not anything like "real" Irish soda bread.
