About this Cook
Hey hey. My name is Rick. Born in S.C., raised in Fla. as a child, Puerto Rico as a teen. So my culture is quite unique. I am married, 30 years, and have a wonderful son who is a kitchen manager/cook. He has the same passion for cooking as I do. Coming from a family of 6, 4 girls-2 boys, I was the one helping my mother in the kitchen. My love for foods and cooking began quite young. I do run a catering business and really enjoy doing dinner parties. My wife and I belong to a gourmet club here in town. I have tons of recipes and I hope to meet many new friends here and share recipes, ideas, and just good ole friendship. Please feel free to contact me anytime. How do we do that?
My favorite things to cook
Living on the coast seafood is my specialty. However, I enjoy venturing out and cooking foods from afar as I call them. I enjoy cooking Caribbean foods as I grew up there. Southern is up there also, but I have recipes from around the globe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Low country boils, oyster roast, frying turkeys, and Thanksgiving. Cookies at Christmas that are donated to kids homes.
My cooking triumphs
Having the worst critics in our gourmet club give me top reviews.
My cooking tragedies
First attempt at sushi rolls

Excellent Broccoli Cheese Soup
As a caterer, I have many recipes for soup, including broccoli cheese. I did try this recipe and found it to be very good. If you like cheese and broccoli, this is a great meal. The only change I made was 1/2 milk and 1/2 heavy cream for a richer soup.
