Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
This recipe turned out awesome and the gravy was delicious. I used two pounds of ground beef, used onion flakes, added a can of french onion soup, fresh mushrooms and white wine. Will make this dish again.

Chicken Parmesan Bundles

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
This recipe is absolutely delicious. My husband gave it a five star rating. I bought thin sliced chicken breasts to make this dish a little less work. I used a bag of fresh spinach that I wilted in a pan with minced garlic and onion flakes. I used whipped cream cheese (appx. 6 ounces) and mixed with the spinach mixture. I placed a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of breast, then the spinach mixture, rolled and dipped in egg then Italian Panko bread crumbs with some grated Parmesan cheese. I also used a 24 ounce jar of pasta sauce, because I had Penne pasta as a side. Will definitely make this again.

Minestrone Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
I made this soup the other day and thought it was very good. My only problem is when I make soup, it turns into a stew instead. I used 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage as that is what I had on hand. I used cut spaghetti and white kidney beans. I also used baby spinach. When I cook with a red sauce I generally add a pinch of sugar to take away some of the acidity. Will be making this dish again.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
This dish was very tasty. I used 1/4 cup butter and added dried onion, basil, grated Parmesan and garlic powder. It was full of flavor and the aroma in the house while cooking made it hard to wait for the chicken to be cooked. Will make again.

Creamy Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
I thought the sauce was a little too thick for my taste buds, but my husband loved this meal, so I am giving it five stars. I doubled the recipe and added some basil to this dish. If you prefer a thicker alfredo sauce, this is the dish for you.

Bacon Mushroom Swiss Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
This meatloaf was very tasty. The changes I made because of what I had on hand was: I used a container of mushrooms (fresh), I used milk, breadcrumbs and 3 cheese crumbles for the cheese. I also added garlic powder and a little Worcestershire sauce. I also served Chubby's Mild BBQ sauce on the side. My husband loves bacon cheeseburgers so this was a treat for him.

Amazing 'Pizza' Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
I rated this recipe 4 stars because I was disappointed with the flavor. I think the title is deceiving and I expected something more. The only change I did was to cook in the oven for 35 mins. then add cheese and cook until cheese melted. If I were to make this dish again, I may try adding some pizza sauce on the chops in place of the oil.

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
These muffins were absolutely delicious! I used the spice cake mix and one can of pumpkin per other reviews and I am impressed. I made mini muffins and took some to a party, they disappeared in no time. You cannot beat the simplicity of this recipe. YUM!!!

Salsa Chicken Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
This meatloaf is fabulous! I made this for dinner the other night and I was not disappointed in the results. I used herb-seasoned stuffing cubes, because it is what I had on hand. I used a pound of ground pork along with the ground chicken, so I used a 16 oz jar of salsa. I also added 2 T. of taco seasoning mix. I used Chubby's BBQ Sauce so I did not add any brown sugar because the sauce is sweet enough. Will definitely make again.

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
My dh and I really enjoyed these pork chops. Per other reviews, I used seasoning salt for the salt, added 1/2 teas. Worcestershire Sauce, 2 cups chicken stock instead of the bouillons and boiling water and added 1 T. Gravy Master along with the flour and sour cream at the end. I did lightly fry the pork chops per the recipe, but I do not think it is really necessary. Because my slow cooker can be used on the stove top, I thickened the sauce on the stove instead of taking the extra time for it to thicken in the crock pot. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could, but since that choice is unavailable, I went on the high end because I would make this again.

Seafood Pasta Delight

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
Awesome! I made this dish for dinner last night and it was a big hit! Easy to make and full of flavor. I used a tad more sugar than suggested (my preference), did not added the salt and cooked the veggies, scallops and shrimp separately, mixed them together and added the sauce. I did not add the pasta to the pan. I placed the pasta on the plate and added the topping. Will definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe!!

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
One word - delish! My husband and I really enjoyed this meal. My only changes were to stuff the manicotti without cooking first. This saved a lot of prep time and dishes. I used a zip lock bag cut at the tip to stuff the manicotti. I also used more pasta sauce (appx 1 and 1/2 jars) I did not use salt and only used one Tablespoon of chicken bouillion. To the white sauce I added some Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese for taste. Cooked for 60 mins. covered, uncovered and added Parmesan cheese and cooked for another 10 mins. Manicotti was done perfectly. Will be making this dish again in the near future. YUM....

Cajun Shrimp Orecchiette

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2011
I would give this 4 1/2 stars if I could. It was good, but I think the wine overpowered the dish. I like cajun food and did not really taste the seasoning. I think it needed more. I used a regular onion and added a package of mushrooms that I needed to use up. I did not use the green onion and used cooked shrimp which I added only at the end. Not really sure I will try this again.

Kielbasa Appetizer

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
This made a very tasty dish. I made a few changes per other reviews - used 2 lbs ground beef, no salt or chili powder - I used two packages taco seasoning mix, one box of shells, no butter, used enchilada sauce (2) one mild and one hot, 1 package cheddar cheese and 1 package Monterey Jack cheese. I divided the shells into two 8 x 8 size disposable pans. I used the mild sauce for one dish and the hot sauce for the other. I spooned the sauce on the bottom of both pans prior to adding the shells and spooned the remainder of the sauce on top. I served the shells with crushed tortilla chips, diced onions, sliced black olives and sour cream on the side. YUM.....

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
This dish was very tasty. The only changes I did were to use only 1 egg, 1/4 cup butter and bake at 425 degrees for 16-22 mins. I also turned the chops when they were half way through cooking. To crisp, uncover the last 15 mins.

Seafood Bake for Two

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
This recipe was tasty. I did not have any halibut, but I used 1 lb scallops and 1 lb lg. shrimp. I think the shrimp cooked faster than the scallops as they were a little tough. Next time I will decrease the time. I also used dried parsley as that is what I had on hand.

Super Bowl Bites

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
This rolls were absolutely fabulous! So easy to make and they were all gone in no time. These are great for kids and adults also. Didn't really change a thing except I added just a little more mayo. Per other reviewers, I used a damp paper towel on top of the rolls. They came out perfectly. Thinking about trying them on the grill. Has anyone attempted this? Would be interested in knowing how they turned out. Great recipe - Thanks!!!
