Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
I thought this recipe was very good. I will admit that I did follow the recipe as directed and found that the sauce thinned out because of the grease, but the flavor was awesome. It may be a good idea to boil before placing in crockpot.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
The flavor from the sauce on these Pork Chops made this an awesome dish. I followed the directions to a "T" except I doubled the sauce. My chops were rather thick so it took the whole hour to cook. Will be making these again for sure. I think the sauce could be used to marinate chicken or fish.

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
This recipe was awesome! Love the flavor and how moist this meatloaf was. I used two pounds of ground beef and only 8 ounces of mozzarella cheese because it is what I had on hand. Will be making this again. YUM....

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
Tried this dish for dinner the other night and it was a big hit. Only real change I made to this recipe was to use spinach in place of the parsley. Will be making this dish again.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
Been wanting to try this recipe for a long time and I finally served it for a dinner party last night. This recipe turned out very well. I used five chicken breasts and that was plenty. Cooked them in chicken stock (32 oz) for one hour and removed from pan to cool and shred. With the chicken stock left in the pan, I added a chopped onion and garlic. I used 3 cans lo Rotel diced tomatoes, 1 teaspoon cumin, only 2 tablespoons of chili powder, a bag of frozen southwestern corn, 1 can black beans and one can of kidney beans. I did use the jar of chunky salsa and tomato soup. I served the sour cream on the side. This was a wonderful dish and it received rave reviews.

Spicy Mexican Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
This salad was very tasty. I made it for a dinner party I was having and wanted to make a different type salad. I used block Monterey cheese, cut into small chunks, used garbanzo beans in place of pinto beans, did not use the black beans because I was using them in another dish I was serving, added black olives and sliced red onion, whole cherry tomatoes and hot and spicy fritos (served on the side). I served ranch dressing and catalina dressing on the side, allowing the guests to choose for themselves.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
What a beautiful presentation this made for the table on Easter. Everyone really enjoyed this dessert and it was gone in no time. Only change I did per other reviews was to make the pudding per the package directions. This dish is so easy to make and it tastes great......

Sunshine Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
I can't believe I just tried this for the first time in my life and I have been around for awhile. I loved the crispiness of the bread and the flavor. I added the round piece of bread to the pan and served on the side. You could really get creative with this one.

Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Made this for dinner last night and was pleased with the results. I had four thick pork chops so I doubled the recipe. I used prepared stuffing mix for the crutons, used chicken broth and added a diced Gala apple. I think the apple really added to the flavor of the stuffing. I had alot of additional stuffing so I just placed it between the chops. Yum...

Campbell's Kitchen Creamy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
Made this dish for dinner last night and we really enjoyed it. Full of flavor and easy to make. I used one half regular white onion, diced and cooked in place of the green onion. I also used two Roma tomatoes instead of one. I added a can of Southwestern style corn mixed in with the chicken and cooked covered 20 mins, uncovered 20 mins. Will make this dish again.

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
YUM!YUM! I made these for a birthday party yesterday and they were a big hit! The tray was empty in no time. I did have one problem, the foil stuck to the top crust and I had a hard time peeling it off. I did not read anyone having a problem with the foil and I am wondering what I did wrong. Other than that, it was absolutely delish! Will be making this again soon.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
Prepared this dish for dinner last night and it was very tasty. The sauce was a little soupy but a spoon solved that problem. The only changes I made were: I used a whole onion, chopped, used a 28 ounce can of Cento Chef's cut with juice, 2 cups heavy cream, 1 T. dried parsley, 1 T. dried basil and 1 T. cajun spice. The only change I would make next time is to double the Italian sausage as I feel it got lost in the sauce. Great recipe.

Spinach Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
OMG! This recipe was so delicious. I can't believe how moist and tender the chicken was and the flavor was perfect. I did make a few changes but nothing that really changed the basic recipe. I added more Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. I only had 4 chix breasts, I used a whole regular onion, chopped, two T. butter, 1 cup milk, fresh spinach and no pimentos. I also added a package of fresh mushrooms and some minced garlic. Thanks for the great recipe, will be making it again.

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
This meatloaf was very good. I am always looking for different way to make it. The meatloaf and sauce was full of flavor. I think next time I will double to sauce to have some additional sauce to place on the sliced meatloaf. Only changes I made swere to use 1 cup Italian Panko Breadcrumbs, used a whole onion chopped and I used one beef homestyle stock serving in place of the granules.

Easy Sausage Strata

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
Sorry but I found this dish to be tasteless and gummy. I think the bread on the bottom was a bad idea as I thought it made the dish mushy. The bread should have been placed on the top to brown. I think it had to much milk and made the dish a soggy mess. I had to remove the aluminum foil and cook 15 minutes longer to get the eggs to set. I even used seasoned salt and I sauted an onion to try to add flavor. No need for the dry mustard it did nothing for the dish. Sorry for the rating but I have to be honest, hubby gave it three stars. Will go back to my old standby breakfast.

Academy Award Scallops

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
I thought this dish was very good. I used a small onion chopped fine because I did not have any green onions. I also used Season All Seasoned Salt in place of regular salt. I gives it a little more flavor. I cooked the scallops about 1 1/2 minute on each side and did not put back in the pan until the sauce had thickened. If you are not careful, you will overcook the scallops making them tough.I would make this dish again.

Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
This salad was awesome! I was a little hesitant with the dressing ingredients, but once I tasted it, I knew the ingredients complimented each other. I bought glazed walnuts to save time, used Feta because that is what I had on hand and added a tiny amount of red onion. Loved this salad and so did my guests.

Lover's Loaf

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
I am on the fence with this recipe. I do not know why any oil was added to the outside of the meatloaf. It made my meatloaf dry and hard on the outside. I did add some minced garlic and onion flakes and basil for flavor, but I think something was missing. Made meatballs with the remainder instead of another loaf. Probably will not make again.

This dish was absolutely delicious. The chicken was so moist and flavorful. I used dijon mustard and sliced mozzarella cheese instead of shredded. Will definitely make again.

Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
This dish was very tasty but the meat was not as tender as I wanted. I am giving this dish 5 stars because the meat being tough has nothing to do with the taste of this recipe. Next time I will sear the meat because I think it keeps the juices in the meat and tenderizers it. I took the advice of others and used 4 oz. of cream cheese and 4 oz. of sour cream. Loved the taste of the sauce. I also used beef broth in place of the water and used fresh mushrooms.
