Pear Honey Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
I've never cared too much for cranberry sauce, but this recipe changed my mind. Made it for Thanksgiving last year and got rave reviews. The pear cuts some of the tartness of the cranberries and the honey adds an unexpected sweetness. Highly recommend!!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
This is our new family stuffing recipe. Never had such good stuffing in my life and was so proud when my whole family raved about it. I highly recommend finding the Jimmy Deans Sage Sausage...comes in a tube usually in the breakfast meat section or sometimes the freezer section. I have officially added this to our family recipe collection and it will be passed on to our children!!!

Green Tomato Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
This was delicious and reminds me of carrot cake or zucchini cake. I pureed my green tomatoes...as is...didn't peel or seed them and I don't see the need to do either. Followed directions otherwise (salting and letting them drain) and only used about 2 cups of puree. Frosted it with cream cheese frosting and everyone wanted second and third helpings! This will be a repeat for sure!!!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I made some minor changes, and we loved it! First of all I was trying to use up some of the abundant peppers and tomatoes from my garden, so I didn't used canned tomatoes...just peeled some fresh and it tasted wonderful! I also used ground turkey (97% fat free) and browned it with the onions and a couple cloves of garlic. I cooked my rice prior to mixing it with the meat so that it wouldn't be crunchy - I grew up with crunchy stuffed peppers and never want to have that again! Since everything was precooked prior to baking in the oven...I only found it necessary to use one can of condensed tomato soup and about 1/2 can of water. They were wonderful and my husband would like me to make these weekly!!!
