Easy Ham and Cheese Appetizer Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
These were very good - I made them as part of a bunch of appetizers for a New Year's Eve family party. I particularly liked how crisp the outside of the bun was in contrast to the center. One person who doesn't even like ham loved them. My only thought is that next time I may try to reduce the butter - by HALF! I felt that it was a lot of butter on the roll (and I love butter, so that is saying a lot). All in all - very good and well-liked.

Asparagus Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Love these and I always get compliments. They freeze nicely too, just assemble, put on wax paper in freezer for a couple hours and then place in storage bag or container. Can then take them out of the Freezer and bake whenever needed - no need to defrost. My kids LOVE these too - great way to eat veggies. To make these vegetarian, I have left out the bacon and they still taste great! These appetizers will not disappoint!

Crispy Herb Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
Very good recipe - my family enjoyed it very much. I used skinless, boneless cut into "chicken fingers" because that's what I had. I may add some extra spice next time - Italian seasoning like suggested. I did not need to grease the pan. Just used foil and as long as I was using butter and it was fully cooked, it was very crispy and not mushy at all. Because the pieces were boneless, skinless - I cooked for only about 35 minutes. I was happy to cut down on the cooking time. I will definitely make again!

French Toast Souffle

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
This was okay. I prefer the creme brulee casserole on this site but tried this one because I liked the idea of the inclusion of cream cheese. The kids and my husband thought it was okay but asked I go back to the "other" way of making french toast casserole.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
This was fantastic!!! Added some almond extract to the icing (but would have been fine without) and cut into rounds instead of laying out flat (to let the kids help put the filling on) but basically the same recipe. The kids and my husband loved this Valentine's day treat!!! Thanks for the recipe!

Hot Cheesy Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I got many complements on this dip. It was nice to see a dip that didn't have artichokes since not everyone I was serving like them. I only added about 6 drops of hot sauce because no amount was specified and it was not spicy at all. I may add some more next time for a little zing. Served with tortilla chips and Ritz but there were soft pretzels on the table as well and many liked dipping them in the most. I did use a 6 blend cheese instead of the plain mozzerella because that's what I had. Will definitely make again! (Someone mentioned reserving the sauce for the spinach but my thought was that it was ALL supposed to go into the dip - and it did and it was great!) Thanks for the great recipe

Pork Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
Excellent!!! Have made these on two different times for parties and have been complimented over and over! The recipe makes a lot so I usually freeze about 1/2 on a cookie sheet then throw in a freezer bag - great to make later for dinner with a nice salad. I've both steamed in lettuce leaves and sauteed - the best method for me has been to brown in a wok type pan with cooking spray for about 3 minutes, flip them, then add about 1/3 cup of water to bottom of the pan and cover for about 15 minutes on low heat or until the water is evaporated - REALLY GOOD! Serve with mixture of 2tbsp rice wine vinegar, 1 tbsp dark sesame oil, 2 tbsp soy sauce, and two thinly chopped scallions from previous review - Thanks for this great recipe!

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
THE BEST french toast bake recipe. A staple every year for Christmas morning. I like to try new recipes but every year I try, I get asked to make this one again. Don't fix it if it ain't broke, I guess!

Cranberry Swirl Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
This recipe was great! I used my leftover "cranberry sauce extraordinaire" from this website and it was great! I made it for a group of friends and they loved how I used up the extra cranberry "sauce" from Thanksgiving! The pecans in the cranberry mixture really added something and I also put a crumb mixture on top (1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 3 Tbsp melted butter, 1tsp cinnamon). After I put the topping on the cake I realized I had forgotten to swirl the cranberry/cake mixture. So, I just gently did it anyway and the crumb topping ended up incorporated into the cake which even made it better! I would definitely make this again and swirl after adding the crumb top. Very moist and great taste. Thanks so much for this recipe!
