Too Much? Never!

I tell you—I just had to open up the cupboard where all my pans are—and it got stuck. That’s because there’s just too many pots and pans in there. Is this a problem? Nope. See, I’d like to think that once you can’t properly open or close a cabinet door, it’s time to get rid of some stuff, but it’s not. No.

See, I love every pot, pan, and paring knife in my kitchen. Sure I’ve got too many, but don’t you, too? Admittedly, I have to deal with the ‘gear’ gene most every guy has, on top of the ‘cook’ gene that makes really, really think those new mixing bowls will make me cook better, but all this is totally normal, right? I do, though, have some favorite bits of gear—they ain’t children, you know, it’s okay to prefer one—and I think maybe I’ll take some time to say which ones, and why.

 I’d love to know if you agree—or disagree, for that matter. The great thing about cooking is all we really care about is the taste. How you get there is up to you, but I think it’s the most fascinating part.

I totally agree. I have way too many pots and bowls...and I am a gadget fan..cant have enough. I try telling myself, no you really dont need that, but I end up getting it anyway. My downfall is flea markets or yard sales, I try to justify it buy saying, oh, its such a good deal. My husband ddoesnt even tell me not to anymore, he knows I am going to get it anywy. ;-)

My Mom's cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning; Happy Cocoa at any time during the winter.
My cooking triumphs
Catering several large parties; creating 2 or 3 signature dishes at restaurants where I've worked. At home, it's anytime I can create food that tastes like I want it too.
My cooking tragedies
Macaroni and Cheese. Honestly--I tried following a recipe that I knew was good and believe me, it wasn't when I made it. Still not sure what I did wrong.
