About this Cook
My name is Vikki, I'm 24. I've been cooking since I was 14. That's when my mom started teaching me and letting me cook with her. I have two beautiful children a girl, 3, and a boy, 6 months. I'm engaged to a very wonderful man. He's THE ONE. lol. And I'm living in my hometown. Nothing better then to be able to say you live At Home.
My favorite things to cook
I love working with chicken, pastas, and I've found my newest love, Baking! I tried my hand at some bread and it turned out great. Now it's become a weekly thing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year on christmas morning, my mom would make Chocolate Gravy and some biscuits. I now do this as well with my family, with a slight tweak. I add chocolate chips to my biscuits.
My cooking triumphs
I made bread! My very first try and the bread came out becautiful! Of course I had to wrap it up right away and drive it over to my parents to show it off!
My cooking tragedies
My second time making bread! lol. I was so excited and going so fast I forgot an ingerdient! The bread was horrible and hard as a brick!

Grandma's Apple Bread
This recipe was really good. Not as sweet as I would have liked. I'm also, not a very big rasin fan, so I substituted the rasins with dried apples. I chopped the apples up, and followed the directions as if they were rasins. I also doubled the batch, which made it perfect for three 8x4in pans.

Easy Lemon Cookies
I followed this recipe as is but once the cookies were out of the oven and cooled for a few minutes, I scooped out the middles and filled them with lemon pie filling. They turned out so good! My dad loves lemon pie and these are now one of his favorites.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits
My fiance is a biscuit and gravy freak. I am always searching for the "perfect biscuit" recipe. This recipe was good, but one thing I would change is the amount of salt. I'd cut it down by half. I was always taught you can put salt in but you can't take it out. I made this recipe step by step and the biscuits came out way too salty for my family. Other then that, they were great. Big and fluffy, just like it promised.
