Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
Good but not great - there are definitely better banana muffin recipes out there! I added chocolate chips but otherwise stuck exactly to the recipe. I cooked them for less time than directed based on other reviews and they were nice and soft, not overdone.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
Delicious made exactly as is. I baked it in a loaf pan rather than on a cookie sheet. Turned out great! My boyfriend was initially skeptical but the first bite won him over. Much better than beef meatloaf (in terms of taste & health!) and so flavorful it does not need any extra sauce.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
By far the best guacamole recipe I have ever made/tried! Everyone raves about this guacamole and I am often asked specifically to bring it to parties & events. The little bit of cayenne gives it a nice kick and the cilantro is a must.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
These were a huge hit! I couldn't find my usual gingersnap recipe so I made these instead based on the excellent reviews. Needless to say, I was not disappointed and will not be going back to my old recipe! These were exactly as the title says "big soft ginger cookies" and I will definitely be making these again.

Chocolate Rum Balls I

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I made these as Christmas gifts and while other people enjoyed them, I didn't...maybe they were just being nice? These are a more traditional style of rum balls with a good rum taste - not too weak and not too strong for my taste. However, I was hoping for a more chocolatey/fudgy rum ball which these are NOT. I really didn't think they had a very strong chocolate taste at all. Based on previous reviews, I rolled half in confectioners sugar and half in cocoa - the cocoa was a big mistake, very bitter! If you want a more chocolatey taste I would roll them in truffle chocolate instead of cocoa. But I will not be making this recipe again.

Florentine Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
This was delicious and a huge hit at Christmas parties. Everyone asked for the recipe! I made as directed, although probably added more artichokes (I didn't measure the amount exactly).

Soda Cracker Chocolate Candy

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I made these twice and both times was disappointed with the results. They tasted good but did not turn out as expected. Based on the excellent reviews I tried to make them a second time - this time using butter instead of margarine and meticulously following the recipe. The chocolate didn't melt very well and they looked terrible. Will not make again.

Sweet Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
These were delicious to munch on by themselves or to put in a salad! I added a 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and cloves for a little bit more flavor. Delicious and very easy to prepare.

Garlicky Baked Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Absolutely delicious! I have made this dish several times, and each time it gets rave reviews from my guests. And there is never any left over! It is easy to make with just a quick prep time, and then bakes in the oven - very low effort for an excellent dish.

Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin With Apricot Ginger Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Based on the other reviews, I took a gamble and prepared this for the first time for guests - everyone raved about it! It was delicious and just the right combination of spicy and sweet. There was even one guest who didn't like spicy food and she loved it. Like other reviewers, I cooked it in the oven (375F x 30 min, then added the glaze and cooked for about 20 more minutes). The recipe makes a huge quantity of glaze and next time I will probably cut the glaze recipe in half. Will definitely make again!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

I LOVE this salad! And so does everyone I make it for - people actually request that I bring this salad when I get invited to dinner parties! There are never any leftovers and I am always getting asked for the recipe. Delicious!!

Milky Tea

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
YUM! Great soothing drink for a dreary day... I didn't quite put in 2 tbsp of honey. For the people who gave it bad reviews, I'd recommend adjusting the honey & vanilla to suit your personal taste.

Whole-Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2006
My entire family LOVES this recipe - we have thrown out all the other chocolate chip cookie recipes we used to use. These are easy to make, and come out perfect every time! Soft and chewy, and they keep their shape instead of flattening out into thin discs like lots of other recipes... Be careful not to over cook these!

These tasted great and were very easy to make. The kernels of corn were a nice change from the usual cornbread recipes.
