Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
I just made this, it was good but a tad bit too lemony for me and my hubby. but i will make it again, probably just omit the zest. other than that, it's great!

Anaheim Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
this was my first attempt at fish tacos - the flavor was good ... i read other reviews saying the chili was very hot so i cut back but i think i could have taken the full heat! mine came out really soupy though, but we just drained it out before serving. my hubby said it could probably make a good soup base too! maybe we'll play around with it next time.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
I give it 5 stars, my hubby gives it 4 stars. He though the mushrooms didn't quite go with it and that it was a tad bit too creamy and rich for a cajun pasta. I loved it though! ... i say go with my opinion! haha ;)

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
I had a sweet tooth and the only dessert my husband likes is strawberry shortcake - so I made this cake for it. It was delish! Easy to make and tastes wonderful! I didn't have lemon extract so I used the juice from a whole lemon and zest from about 1/3 of the lemon. It probably could have used a tad bit more. I had a bundt cake tin and I lost track of time and forget to check on it and it cooked the whole time as per the recipe, browned a bit more than I would have liked - next time I'll probably shave off 5 min.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
This was delish!!! I had some extra buttermilk I needed to use and looked up recipes and glad I came across this gem! I made chili and this cornbread and it was a hit. I might add a little more sugar or a bit of honey next time as I like mine a tad bit sweeter. But this was sooo good! The perfect texture and easy to make. Definitely a keeper!

Alfredo Mostaccioli

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
This was easy to make and very tasty. My hubby ususally doesn't care for alfredo but he actually liked this one. Next time I might cut back on the butter just a bit.

Corrigan's Minestrone

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
5 stars for the soup base - 4 1/2 stars overall ... not sure if all my veggies were jumbo sized or what, but after adding everything there was waaaaay too much stuff not enough broth, I had to go back and make more broth. I'll definitely use this recipe again, just maybe use half of all the veggies.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
This was delish!! My husband isn't a fan of sauces but he really enjoyed this! I went a tad bit overboard with the wine and the sweetness really comes through - so if you're a beginner like me, watch the wine! haha But this was really good, I cut out the bacon since we didn't have any handy and it was still juicy and tasty. It smelled soooooo good as I was making it! Def make again!!

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
This was soooo yummy! I'm a novice cook and my hubby is always a little skeptical whenever i make sauces but we both reallllly enjoyed this! I didn't have red chile sauce - someone mentioned it was the same as enchilada sauce and someone else mentioned they used salsa - i only had green enchilada sauce so i used half that and half salsa. I added more sugar to offset some of the salsa taste. But it was very good!! My ribs weren't fall f the bone tender - so next time i think i'll try cooking longer at a lower heat. Great recipe! Definitly make again!

Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
This was exactly what i've been looking for! My mom had a recipe that we lost and this is just as good! The dressing is really good ... not too oily and not too sweet! I did however keep forgetting about the ramen noodles in the oven and kept burning them! haha so just be sure to check on it often!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
This was a really good base ... I took the advice of some of the other reviewers ... I like my banana bread to have more of a banana-y taste and less dense. Do I added an extra banana and more flour to balance it out ... however, with all of that added I think it needs more sweetness too. Next time I'll still add the extra banana & flour but add more sugar and vanilla. Still gave it 5 stars since I'm sure it was fine without the alterations since everything else was great.

Hong Kong Style Egg Tarts

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
Just made these for Chinese New Years dinner with my family. This was our first attempt making these and everyone approved - even Grandma! My suggestion would be to roll out the dough. We did just as the recipe and if the dough is too thick it's not as good. And this makes way more than 12 FYI!! I also prefer the filling to be a slight bit sweeter so I'll be adding more evaporated milk next time around. (we are Chinese by the way if that helps solidify my review!)

Healthier Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2014
This was easy and yummy! I slathered the sauce on thick because I was worried it was so healthy it might not have enough taste but does! I really didn't need so much sauce on it!
