Chef John's Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
Just made these 1st time. Watching the video made it easier knowing what to expect. They turned out great for this first timer but I wish I would have made them just a little thicker to only get 12. Also I used powdered buttermilk because I didn't have liquid, worked just fine. Taste was great, you could smell the butter while they were baking! No need to put butter on them at the table. My favorite part was the crisp parts. Give it a try, I will definitely make again!

Greek Spaghetti II

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
This was good although when put in the oven there were some parts that came out hard from the cheese. It did have good flavor (I added minced garlic to the butter) but seemed like alot of butter and was a little greasy. Will probably make again but maybe add some cream and use less butter just a personal preference. I would suggest trying it as is first and see what you think then make changes to suite yourself.

Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2012
My Mother made this and Hubby asked me to get the recipe. I made it tonight and he said he couldn't stop eating it! I had a few bigger zucchini so only used two but cut into quarters and I bet he ate a whole zucchini by himself! He is a little guy and it surprised me when he came and asked if he could have more, I asked him to save me at least one piece he went to the dish and said "uh oh, I'd better stop there is only one more!" I fixed a 9 x 13 and then another 8" square to fit it all. Must be a keeper he already wants to know when I'll be fixing it again! I used Bob Evans sausage original flavor and other than more mozzarella cheese (cheese lovers) kept everything the same. Great recipe!! Definitely going in my zucchini circulation!

Original Hot Brown

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
Made this for breakfast this morning and it is delicious! This would be a very filling breakfast for a holiday and to feed alot of people. I found that "serves 4" can be stretched farther because there is so much sauce. The only addition I made, based on past experience with this recipe, is grated nutmeg and stirred in about 1/2 cup shredded cheddar to the sauce while adding the salt and pepper to taste. Very good! Would be excellent with ham for those that don't care for turkey.

Libby's® Pumpkin Roll with Cream Cheese Filling

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
You know a recipe is good when a year later you remember it when it comes time for the holiday's. I had not made a pumpkin roll prior to last year and find myself here to make it again! This was super easy and I received so many compliments. Most comments were that they have never made one and would never attempt to make one. I was designated as the pumpkin roll maker for the family get togethers. Great tasting and there were no leftovers. Even those that said they did not care of the pumpkin flavor loves this desert, myself included! Excellent and I recommend trying it if you'd like to impress!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
I found the recipe to have a hint of sweentness to it but I expected it because of Christa's description. I too agree with other reviews that 5 cups of flour is too much to add to the dough while mixing. I believe I used about 4 cups and then kneaded the other cup into it. I also had to add 3 Tbls water to the mix. I took the suggestion from others and coated all in butter spray after removing from oven and then used koesher salt on half and cinnamon and sugar on the other half hoping for a breakfast treat. Kids thought I used too much salt and thought it was weird I told them to dip it in mustard. One liked it and one didn't (personal preference I guess). Overall would use this recipe again. I did heat the water and baking soda in a pan like another reveiwer suggested to keep the water warm because you have so many to dip. One thing I will keep in mind when making again is to make the strips very thin because ours baked together and didn't really keep the pretzel shape with the normal circle openings. The taste I would give a 5 only giving a 4 because I followed the recipe exactly and 5 cups flour was too much to add to the mix. Overall - good pretzel recipe. Husband said tastes like a pretzel, which was a compliment! I think the kids will like the breakfast version better with the cinnamon and sugar. I loved them!

Soft Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
Well the verdict is in and these are a definate winner! The name says it all, soft breadsticks they are, however the bottom has a little crunch when browned, just right! We followed the recipe exactly using the bread machine dough cycle and exact ingredients. I can't wait to try this dough in a pizza Charles! Thanks for a great tasting breadstick. Fixed along with the Garlic butter recipe from this website and it was near perfect! Could stand up to the best pizza chain breadsticks hands down. Won't be throwing this recipe out!
