Tiger Butter II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
I got thie recipe years ago from a friend and everyone LOVES it. The only thing I will add that makes it even easier is that after it has chilled and it hard, I dump it out of the pan and break it into bite size pieces. No cutting needed and the "bark" look is great with the marbled top. Plus, I get to eat the crumbs after I've broken it all! :)

Deep Fried Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2001
YUMMMMM! I had these at a restaurant and loved them. When I made them, they were just as good. I used the whole chill dills you find in the deli case and cut them into circles. These pickles will stay crisp and not go limp. I'm taking them to my next family get together!

Addictive Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2003
Good and easy. My hubby likes it better without the raisins, so I make half the batch without and half with and that way, my muffins have more raisins. YUM!

Microwave Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
I'm rating this based on time and ease to prepare. It's almost as good as my baked recipe that takes 4 times as long. I didn't have an onion and my kids are big on onion anyway, so I used onion powder instead to give it some flavor. My 3 kids and husband ate it up!

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
these were great! My kids love them. I've made them now as standard sized and mini muffins. My kids like the minis the best. They were very moist. I have followed the recipe to a T and they were delicious, but they are also delicious with my alterations. I've been making them for months now with 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tsp of vanilla. I also add 3/4 cup of mini choc chips sometimes. But what I mostly like is that I use a combo of mostly wheat flour with a little white. I use the Splenda baking blend. I sub no sugar applesauce in place of the butter and I use egg white egg substitute for the eggs. They are healthier and just a delicious!

Easy Grape Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
Nice, different. I took it to a brunch and was asked for the recipe. I think next time I will try it with peanuts instead (or without nuts for my allergic daughter).

Butterscotch Party Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2001
This was too easy and quick! I added candy corn when I broke it up to serve to add a festive touch. Next time I will cut the carmels into quarters. They were just a little too much of a mouthful. This would make a nice holiday gift!

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
I despise cooked cabbage, but we received our second head of cabbage through our CSA this week and last week's coleslaw was still hanging around, so I thought we'd try this. It was great! Even my picky kids liked it! I did as an earlier reviewer did and just put it all in a pot on the stove for 15 minutes after I browned the beef and it was perfect! We will definitely make this again.

Marinated Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I have used this recipe for years and I'm in the middle of moving, and can't find it. Luckily I found it here. It is always a hit and a very nice looking appetizer. I especially love to take it to a potluck when I have a busy schedule the day of the event and don't have time to be in the kitchen. That way I make it the night before and it's ready to go when I am! It is good with Triscuits or melba toast or pretty much any cracker!

Very good and very easy! I agree that it tastes like a frosty. This recipe was the perfect size for my Cuisinart ice cream maker.

Baked Fresh Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Hubby wanted a cherry pie in the middle of winter. I couldn't find any fresh cherries, so I used canned tart cherries. It was still delicious. I can only imagine how good it is with fresh cherries. Other than that change, I used cornstarch in place of the tapioca because that is what I had and omitted the almond (nut allergies). It was great and easy and it held up well, not too runny! Will definitely make again.

Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2006
I had rated this 3 stars before when I first made it because the dough was too sticky for my press, but I just made them again and the dough was the perfect consistency. I think the difference was that I used the full fat cream cheese instead of the 1/3 less fat stuff. The flavor was good. My kids liked it.

Baked Cream Cheese Appetizer

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2003
I took this to a party and it was a smash. I thought I might not like it with the apples, but I used tart Granny Smiths and it was delicious! I will definitely make this again!

Easy Ham and Cheese Appetizer Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2003
I made these to take to a gathering with friends where soup was the main course and these little sandwiches were the perfect side. They went in a flash! I will definitely make these again. They were quick enough to make after work and before the party.

Baked Cheese Olives

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2001
I love olives and have had friends make these before, but I wasn't as successful with these. It took forever because I had trouble getting the dough to bind even after adding more butter. I may have to play around with the recipe or find a friends recipe because I love these but this time, wasn't as successful.

I didn't use all of the marshmallows, that seemed like too many. But it was very quick and very easy!

Winter Vegetable Hash

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
I'm not a big fan of squash or kale, but had some I needed to use and since I like the rest of the ingredients I thought this would be the way to go, and it was very good. Even my picky husband liked it. The portabella mushrooms were really what made it so good! I don't think it would have been as good with regular mushrooms.

Zucchini Pie II

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
Oh. My. Gosh. This tastes soooo much like apple pie. My kids didn't know that it wasn't. We have had so much squash and zucchini that I just wanted to find another way to use it up and this was a great way to do that! I made it exactly like the recipe said.
