About this Cook
My cooking triumphs
My best friend is Italian and her entire family is from Italy. I have no Italian blood whatsoever. For her bridal shower I offered to make all the pasta dishes. While she agreed I would do this, her entire family was "concerned" about my cooking and thought it would be a disaster since I'm not Italian. Without me knowing, they were planning what to do if no one liked my cooking. When the day finally arrived for everyone to eat my pasta dishes her family was so impressed that they wanted me to cook for them ALL the time - for EVERY party, for EVERY occasion.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I ever cooked a turkey the internal thermometer was broken (and unfortunately so was the oven). It looked perfect after baking for the specified amount of time... After letting the turkey cool, and finally sitting down to eat, my fiance grabbed a leg and tried to pull it off, only to have the juice squirt across the table at our guests. The turkey was so raw we ate nothing but vegetables that night. Now I know you do not have to fight with a turkey leg to get it off!

Melt In Your Mouth Pork Chops
These turned out perfect. We were looking for a healthier way to cook chops other then frying them. I lightly browned the chops in a skillet along with some seasalt, pepper, oregano, and minced garlic, then poured the sauce mixture over the chops in the skillet and brought it to a boil. Once it boiled I transferred everything to a baking dish and baked at 325 for about 30 minutes with foil on top. I removed the foil and baked for another 10 minutes. They are perfect! Very flavorful and pairs great with broccoli and rice!
