I cook what sounds good. I tend to improvise a lot. I think of recipes as skeletons to build on.

Christmas dinner for 10 complete with drinks, appetizers, a vegetarian main dish, a turkey, and a ham plus desserts all from scratch.

Peanut butter cookies that the dog wouldn't even eat.
