Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
My first time making sugar cookies and they received rave reviews! My Grandma especially loved them and couldn't stop talking about them, and she's an excellent baker so that means a lot to me. Next time I think I will roll the balls a tad smaller though.

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I made this for my Grandma and she loved it. Said it was the best peanut brittle she'd ever tasted. I used the warm baking sheet method as another reviewer suggested and it worked out great.

Bagels II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This was my first attempt at bagels and although they look like bagel shop rejects when I was done with them, they were mighty tasty! It was late at night, so I didn't take as much care with the dough as I should have which is why they didn't look so great, but I did 50/50 white and whole wheat flour, and put sesame seeds on top. Very good! I will not buy another bagel again!

Sausage, Peppers, Onions, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2014
Husband loves this. One of his favs that he has to have once a week, and he actually takes leftovers to work for lunch which never happens with other dishes.

Roasted Winter Squash Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I didn't use the oil or salt either. I didn't dry the seeds completly; just left them a bit damp and threw them in the oven. They don't 'pop' without the oil I guess, but I leave them in for 15-20 minutes and they're done. They don't stick for me, and I don't use cooking spray either.

Sarah's Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2014
Absolutely love this pilaf. So easy, and so tasty. I use veg stock instead as I'm vegetarian, but it's delicious none the less.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2015
I only had 1lb of beef defrosted, so I adjusted the recipe a bit. Coated in flour, garlic powder, parsley, rosemary and pepper to fast fry, then added a little more pepper, rosemary and parsley with 2c broth and 1/2c red wine. After an hour, added in the chopped potatoes, and simmered in low for another 1 1/2 hrs, then added in some frozen mixed veg for the last half hr (no carrots or celery in the house ATM).

Gingerbread Boys

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
Got rave reviews from my Grandma, and she's extremely picky! Though they did spread a bit much, so I'm going to reduce the egg a lil bit as another reviewer had suggested.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2014
I made this for a family dinner and everyone loved it. I did 8 thighs, bone in/skin on. I didn't change the sauce but I think I'll cut it down by 1/3 or 1/2 next time. There was just too much of it, but some used it as a gravy for mashed potatoes. I was told it was even better as left overs.

Sesame Green Beans

I did it with broccoli because I didn't have any beans and it was super tasty. This is a new fav recipe.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2015
My husband said this is the best tuna salad he's ever had. Took it to work for lunch 2 days in a row, which never happens. I left out the dill because I didn't have any, but I'm sure that would make it even better. Def a keeper recipe.

Shrimp with Lobster Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2012
I made this for my moms bday and everyone loved it. Very easy and uncomplicated. I used regular sherry instead of cooking, and I did add some green onions at the end of cooking, as some of the reviews suggested.

Honey Mustard Tofu

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
This was one of the first tofu recipies I tried. I loved Honey Mustard Chicken but then became a vegetarian, so I couldn't have it. I was grateful to find this recipe and share it with a few friends who were willing to try tofu. I usually adjust the measurements for the sauce so I have extra to go over mashed potatoes.

Healthier Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2015
My husband loved the fish done this way. Barely even shared any with our son. I didn't have onion powder or celery salt, so I used onion salt, and a few pinches of celery seed.

Royal Icing I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
So easy and so perfect! It dried quick enough and stayed hard, unlike other cookie icing recipes I've tried. I was only planning on doing some piping on the cookies so I reduced the recipe by half. I used vanilla extract since I didn't have the lemon, and used 2 egg whites and 2 1/2 C of the powdered sugar, as per one of the reviews.
