Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2014
Made last night. Super easy - and if I can make dinner with a one year old at my feet, life is amazing! Did change a few things..... I sautéed onions in olive oil before adding and I added a few dashes of Italian seasoning to beef along with dash of worcjestire sauce.... And since my baby had crushed all her saltine crackers earlier, I used those in place of bread crumbs. So I altered yes, but without the basic recipie it wouldn't have been so great. Thank you. Will put in rotation

FAB! Loved this! I love garlic so I added more but other than that made as it! Found myself dipping into the leftovers the next day with just a spoon! YUM YUM. Would recommend this to anyone.

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
This cake grew on me the second day. Once the hot water was added the flavor of the cake greatly diminished. I didn't find this cake to have enough flavor in the end. The frosting was OK but very sweet. I will continue to search for the perfect chocolate cake.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
EXCLLENT! My guests were still raving as they left! The sauce is outstanding! I cooked a 4 pound tenderloin and that fed 6 people (3 men, 3 women) exactly (people went back for a slice or 2 extra for seconds) with zero leftovers. I used a cab sav instead of port and added a teaspoon of white sugar to compensate. I doubled the sauce (b/c my meat was 4 lbs.) but it was totally unnecessary! I probably have at least 2.5-3 cups left (will freeze)! Thank you for such an amazing recipe! I will be making this again and again as long as my boyfriend says we can afford it! In case anyone is curious, i served roasted whole baby potatoes and green beans with sliced grape tomatoes tossed in olive oil and salt and pepper as side dishes. WOW! SO SO SO GOOD!

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Amazing! So hearty! i followed the recipe exactly and it turned out fabulous! I know some reviewers commented that it was a little too watery; I simmered mine for 2 hours or so but perhaps it was not watery because my cans of beans were 19 ounce instead of 15 ounce each? Regardless, you must try this!

Simple yet tasty soup. Real easy to prepare. I made exactly as written and the only thing i found was that my zucchini went mushy. Will be making again but will just keep a closer eye on the zucchini. thanks for the recipe!

Old Fashioned Sicilian Succo

OUTSTANDING! I was so fortunate to spend 3 weeks travelling through Italy with the love of my life last summer that it actually brought tears to my eyes when i tasted this sauce! Joiamia - I never made it to Sicily but your Nana has brought back so many memories of great italian home cooking to me - thank-you for those, and thank-you for this recipe. I didn't change a thing and wont ever. Thank you.

Wow - very tasty! I loved how flavorful this dish was with so little effort. I didn't have time to let it marinate and it was still fab - can't wait to taste it next time with I prepare it in advance! Thank so you much!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Excellent! The first time I followed the recipe exactly with RAVE reviews and the second time I ran out of white sugar....so I used 3/4 white and 1&1/4 cup brown sugar with RAVE reviews; both were amazing, and based solely on appearance I may continue to "run out of" white sugar. Thank you soooooo much for this treat of a recipe!

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
I really enjoyed this recipe (4.5 stars) - it was quick and easy and a leaner alternative to ground beef. I did add kidney beans and black beans because I enjoy the texture of beans in chili. Thanks for the recipe - its a keeper.

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
Thank-you so much for such a tasty recipe! My family loved this - everyone went back for seconds! I made no substantial changes to the recipe - I used an extra potato and added a little more red wine to make up for the creme I didn't have on hand. The spice combo along with the red wine makes the kitchen smell so wonderful. I will be making this again and regularly! Thank you once again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
AMAZING!!!!! People fought over the last two slices! I did however based on other reviews mix most of the sauce with the apples before putting into the pie...i did attempt basting the top of the pie with remaining sugar mix however it didn't look pretty (but i do think this was my fault as i got tied up and i think most the liquied evaporated)....next time i would simply baste the pie crust with the usual egg wash.... If you are looking for an apple pie recipe look no further - this one will not fail you! ...oh as an aside i basted the bottom of pie crust with egg whites before puting the filling in...this is something i always to to prevent soggy crust synodrome.

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
My family loved these! I didn't make the topping for personal preferences. Other than that followed the recipe as written. I never buy pumpkin pie spice, always make my own. I used the recipe on here by Penilu called 'Pumpkin Pie Spice I' and typed in one serving which equaled the 1 tablespoon called for in this recipe. Also, 2 apples was about 2 cups. My family gobbled them up! Will make again tomorrow with left over pumpkin from pumpkin pies!
