Turkey a la King

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2015
this is so good. I have made it a couple of times now and it has turned out perfectly each time. Tonight, it will be over biscuits because I bought the wrong kind of puff pastry. But, it is still amazing! I made exactly as the recipe states as my motto is to always make things according to the recipe the first time. Then the next time you can modify it if need be, but we like this as it is.

Four Layer Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
I made this for my dil as it is a recipe her mother would make for Thanksgiving in their home. I found this crust to be tasteless. Next time I am going to make a shortbread crust and try that instead. Come to find out, DIL doesn't even eat the crust because it is so blah, she scraps the top of and eats it.

Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2013
Loved the idea, just didn't turn out as expected. Was looking for a quick way to give the kids a quick dose of protein in the morning. This is not it. Way too much bread, which was dry, and not enough egg. I, then tried to use less biscuit, but the dough didn't flatten enough to cover the bottom and sides of he muffin tin. 3 eggs to fill 10 muffin cups, no. Will not make again.

raspberry cranberry jello

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
this is a very good recipe especially for people like me who love cranberry flavor but not crazy about biting into a whole cranberry. This is sweet and tangy and a wonderful accompaniment to any meal! I mistakenly bought raspberry jello instead of strawberry and probably will not even try the strawberry. The raspberry is excellent.

Skillet Beef and Macaroni

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
Made this recipe this evening for my husband and myself, cutting the recipe in half. Amazing!! I have for years wanted a recipe like I used to have in school lunches in grade school. This is it!! We both loved it. I made it as the recipes states with the exception of adding celery with my onion and green pepper to the ground beef in the skillet. I also didn't have any tomato paste, so I added a jar of Prego spaghetti sauce instead. I thought it would be great because it included additional spices not found in tomato sauce. I will be making this again very soon.

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2012
What I have done to keep my seasoned flour on the steak is after I dredge the meat through the flour mixture (I use Kentucky Kernel instead of flour) I then let it set for a few minutes~about 5, before placing it in a HOT pan. his way the flour is well adhered to the meat and stays put.

Tangy BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
with it being mid February, 20 degrees outside and a foot of snow on the ground, I decided not to put these on the grill, but rather put them in my slow cooker. They were amazing! I will for sure make these again and come warmer weather, I will try them as the recipe says. But for now, I placed the ribs in the slow cooker, mixed the other ingredients together and poured the mixture over the ribs. then, in my opinion, everything is better with an little onion, so I sliced an sweet onion very, very thin, separated the rings and placed it in top of the ribs. Then set the slow cooker at 350 and cooked for about 5 1/2 hours. AMAZXING!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
after reading all reviews, I decided to try this recipe. OMW, I don't even know what to say. It was nothing short of spectacular!! It is far superior to anything I have ever eaten in any Italian restaurant anywhere. I did make a few changes. fried my own bacon and used the pan drippings instead of butter, used fresh spinach, added a sliced sweet onion to bacon and cooked together, used skim milk instead of 1/2 and 1/2 and 5 cheese Italian blend instead of Mozz. cheese. Did not cook chicken first at all. I could not beleive how easy and yummy this was! Amazing!!

Scotcharoos

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
Nanny used to make these for us 50 years ago and I made them for my kids and now I am hoping to make them for Grandchildren someday. I have found putting them in cupcake pans have been extremely helpful. No more cutting!! Works great for bake sales also. These are sooo good, a must have at every family function.
