About this Cook
I love to cook and share it with others. I get great pleasure in seeing others enjoy my dishes. My kitchen needs to be the biggest room in my house. I have been married 30 years and have two grown sons, no grandbabies yet but looking forward to that day. I teach the 2 year old sunday school class and help with a junior Bible Quiz team. Bake sales are a big part of our fundraisers.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new recipes but I don't like foo foo recipes. Give me normal everyday ingredients. I don't want to have to buy some bizarre spice that i will never use again. I really want to try my hand at a crown rib roast(Pork). they look cool and i would like to give it a whirl.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite cooking tradition is the day before thanksgiving, my husband takes the day off, we go out for breakfast and then we go home and cook all day together for our family get-together the next day. On New Year's Day, he makes a delicious steak amd mushroom gravy meal that everyone looks forward to all year long. He makes a mean batch of cinnamon rolls and also he has mastered my Dad's yeast rolls. How did I get so lucky?
My cooking triumphs
I am always so proud when our holiday meals are so beautiful or when whatever i take to buffets gets rave reviews. I recently did a meal for a Bridal shower and then did a baby shower and people told me they wanted to come to every party i cooked for. I was pleased.
My cooking tragedies
The first meal i ever cooked my husband after we were married I burnt! Baked Chicken, as simple as it comes. We must not have been paying attention. I also used too much salt and too high heat but I have since learned and haven't had any tragedies in a very long time.

Turkey a la King
this is so good. I have made it a couple of times now and it has turned out perfectly each time. Tonight, it will be over biscuits because I bought the wrong kind of puff pastry. But, it is still amazing! I made exactly as the recipe states as my motto is to always make things according to the recipe the first time. Then the next time you can modify it if need be, but we like this as it is.

Four Layer Delight
I made this for my dil as it is a recipe her mother would make for Thanksgiving in their home. I found this crust to be tasteless. Next time I am going to make a shortbread crust and try that instead. Come to find out, DIL doesn't even eat the crust because it is so blah, she scraps the top of and eats it.

Breakfast Pies
Loved the idea, just didn't turn out as expected. Was looking for a quick way to give the kids a quick dose of protein in the morning. This is not it. Way too much bread, which was dry, and not enough egg. I, then tried to use less biscuit, but the dough didn't flatten enough to cover the bottom and sides of he muffin tin. 3 eggs to fill 10 muffin cups, no. Will not make again.
