Black Bottom Cupcakes I

These were just o.k. to me. The chocolate cake part was great (I substituted the water with very weak coffee). The cheesecake part was kind of bland, not sweet at all. If I made this again I would add milk chocolate chips next time.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

This recipe was a great base, but I felt it needed a bit more flavour so I added red wine, and let it simmer down a bit. It was wonderful.

Too sweet for my family and me. Didn't seem to fit as a vegetable side dish.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Fantastic! I have made these a couple times now and they always come out great. I don't have cream of tarter so I took Melanies advise and substituted 1 teaspoon of baking powder & 3/4 teaspoons of baking soda for the cream of tarter and baking soda.

Red Pepper Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
This is the best Red Pepper Soup recipe I have ever made and my family loves it. I roasted the peppers first, and then removed the skin. I also added some seasoning salt and because I live with a vegetarian I used a vegetarian "chicken stock". I made it once with a vegetable vegetarian stock but found that the flavor wasn't as rich. For special occasions I usually plate this "restaurant style" using a technique that a chef showed me. I add a small dollop of sour cream or creme fraiche to the middle of each soup bowl. Then I add a drop of balsamic vinegar to the middle of the sour cream and put a small peice of micro green (baby salad piece) beside it. It makes it look super fancy and doesn't alter the taste. Thanks Judi for this amazing recipe

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
Fantastic. I used an inside round piece of beef and it came out flavorful and tender. My only complaint is that I was looking for more of a restaurant style au jus taste, but since this is a recipes for just the beef dip itself I had to give it 5 stars. Next time I'll try it with Worcestershire Sauce.
