Cowgirl Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2014
I followed this recipe faithfully, as stroganoff is a favorite with us, and slow cooker recipes are always welcome. But the stew beef is the only element that is cooked in the slow cooker. You still have to cook the noodles and put the rest of the dish together. Stew meat is not well-suited to this dish--better to slice the beef thinly and cook it quickly over high heat while the noodles boil. The use of cream cheese, especially an entire package, makes for a gluey consistency as well. I think it would be far superior with thinly sliced sautéed beef, sautéed onions and fresh mushrooms, and a sauce made simply from broth and sour cream, seasoned to taste. I'm not trying to be overly critical; the dish just seemed confusing, and with far too many clashing ingredients, and with no clear goal--taste, convenience, or healthiness.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
The reason that some cooks are having trouble with the bake time and/or this bread coming out is that they are using pans that are too large. The recipe specifies 7 X 3 loaf pans--less than half the volume of a regular loaf pan. Try it again, this bread. is worth it.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
This is probably the recipe I make the most frequently out of all the great recipes I've found on this website. My husband requests it, company requests it, and relatives beg for the recipe. I make it as written, except I usually make it with chicken thighs so I cut down on the butter. With basmati rice and naan it is a great meal. Thanks for a super recipe!

Asian Ginger Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
This is fabulous dressing. I didn't have time to let it cool, so instead of adding the water before microwaving it I just threw in a few ice cubes afterwards to cool it off. Shake it up and you're good to go. So refereshing and delicious!

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I made this recipe exactly as written, and my husband was literally speechless throughout dinner--aside from the yummy noises and moans of appreciation. This beat any dish we've had in a restaraunt hands down, and it was so incredibly easy. I also made the Naan by Mic (excellent) and some basmati rice with peas, and it was just . . . so . . . good. Thanks for a perfect recipe!

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
My family and I enjoyed this very much. I found this recipe when I was looking for a main course using the ingredients I had on hand--a pound of precooked ground beef and a bag of frozen hash browns. All I had to do was shred the cheese!

Challah I

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
I made this wonderful bread for a potluck Christmas party. I followed the directions exactly, except that it only took about thirty minutes to bake. It turned out beautifully--gorgeous to look at and delicious. Everyone remarked on it, and it just disappeared. I served it with freshly made sweet butter. A wonderful recipe--makes stupendous french toast the next day, too.
