Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
I just eyeballed the spices and used some apple sauce for the oil. My daughter and my friend said it was extremely moist and delicious. My daughter has asked that I make it again VERY soon, so that speaks volumes...

Hummus III

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
Yum! I used less tahini since I had never used it before. It was great! Once it was all mixed up in the blender, I took half out and set aside. To the remaining hummus in the blender, I added about 10 pimento stuffed olives and give it a few pulses. Put both in different containers and put it the fridge overnight. They were both delicious....my daughter perfered the olive hummus, while I really liked the plain.

Greek Tzatziki

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
This was good but did have a little more salt and lemon than I cared for. I think my lemon may have been TOO juicy, so I am giving it a five star instead of four---blaming my lemon instead of the submitter or the recipe!

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
My husband and daughter really liked this. Since I have diabetes, I didn't try it, but will absolutely make it with Splenda next time so I can indulge! I made this recipe as written with no substitutions.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
My husband and daughter said these were "okay." I had made banana muffins last week with NO recipe to follow and they said those were much better. I too use crumb topping with the same ingredients except I do add pecans to the topping mixture. They said these tasted more like banana bread (more dense) than a muffin.

Pork Patties Oriental

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
I had some ground pork mixture left over from making dim sum so I used the sauce from this recipe to pour over the meatballs. I did add some red pepper flakes because we like spicey and it was so good. This would be great with any type of meat..I will make again using shrimp and then again with chicken. Easy, fast dinner!

Shrimp Salsa

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
Very, very nice. I added a tad of jalapeno because I needed to use it and a bit of extra garlic because I LOVE it. I had some grilled shrimp left over from the evening before and wow--it was so good in this dish. Really healthy salsa!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
My daughter says that this is the BEST muffin recipe ever. Saturday I made with blueberries and Sunday I made with blackberries. For topping I used brown sugar--I don't think I've ever used white sugar for a topping. I also added a super small carton of blueberry yogart for some of the milk, just because I happened to have it on hand. Daughter asked if I would make some for her to take to school for "the girls." (High school seniors.)

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
Easy and delicious! I omitted the thyme and oil. I added a bit of ketchup and a few shakes of hot sauce to the bbq sauce/vinegar mixture. My daughter said it was the best BBQ sandwich ever, so it's a keeper. My husband had two huge sandwiches and asked that I make again soon. Served with my homemade coleslaw (killa!) on the side and french fries.

Herman Reunion Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
I used only 1 1/2 pkg. cream cheese but kept all other ingredients the same due to comments regarding it being bland. Also added some freshly snipped chives. I didn't freeze; just rolled in pecans and fresh parsley, wrapped it up and placed in fridge. Absolutely wonderful! Great flavors after sitting in fridge all afternoon. I rated it four stars since it would have been a bit bland using the three blocks of cream cheese.

Dad's Magic Bar Olives

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
For those of you who enjoy fried pickles, you will love these guys! I just did a trial run for my daughter and I and she was wowed. Can't wait tocook next batch when hubby wakes up from his nap! I am so glad that I brought this jar of large olives over from the US, because when I can find olives here in China, they are $10 a jar! This was fun and super easy to make!

Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
This was just okay for me, but other people seemed to like it. A third grader had thirds of it, so I am giving it four stars instead of three.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
I took this, along with 2 other dishes to a gathering and this was the most talked about recipe amongst the adults there. Made it the day before. I did add sliced grapes and used crasins. A beautiful, delicious salad.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
As if this needed another 5 stars! I subbed Splenda for the sugar since I am diabetic. One loaf, I made as written. To the other two loaves, I added a handful of Craisins, pecans and a tablespoon or so of mini chocolate chips, per my daughter's request. As written, it rates 5+ stars, but we did enjoy our additions a bit more as it took it over the top.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I thought this was delicious and my daughter thought it was just "okay." I really liked the sauce a lot and will never buy teriyaki sauce again. I made one sub and that was to use orange juice in the place of water. I too, just poured the sauce over the chicken.

I made this several weeks ago and forgot to rate it..Marianne, this is PERFECT. I usually have extra capors from my own chicken cacciatore. PERFECT! I admit that I added white wine and this was just d'bomb.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I made this using Splenda and I had to make my own crescent dough, but it was worth it because they were delicious! My daughter and I really enjoyed them. My husband had some after dinner and he LOVED them. He asked where I bought them!! I didn't tell him I used Splenda until he ate them and he said he could eat them every day---huge compliment to the submitter of the recipe.
