Fried Apple Pies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
Very good although I did make a few changes. I used 3 large apples, 1/2c. white sugar + 1/4c. brown sugar, 1 1/2t. cinnamon, and 1t. vanilla. I tripled the dough recipe. I found that I needed to add a lot of water to make the dough work for me. I deep fried these then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar while still hot. They were a huge hit! Thanks!

All Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
Very good! I've never made apple butter before and this was EASY! I reduced the sugar to 3c. using half while and half brown. It was still a bit sweet so I will reduce further next time. I made this for Thanksgiving and sent a jar home with each guest. Perfect gift!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
It was ok. It was too dry when initially baked, so I didn't even bother saving it to reheat. It might be good with quite a bit of tweaking.

Super simple to make! The dough was very easy to work with and the dogs loved them! I made them as Christmas treats for my parents' dogs and for some neighbor dogs as well. They were a huge hit! Thanks!

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I have now made this at least a dozen times and it is perfect every single time! I do add about 1.5 extra teaspoons of cinnamon because we love it, but otherwise follow the recipe exactly. It was also the first roll I've ever made and even my first one turned out beautifully! I line my pan with wax paper to bake, then I use another piece of greased wax paper on the top when I roll it up. Makes it so easy! Thanks!

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
I have made these twice now (Thanksgiving and Christmas) and everyone raved about them both times! The potatoes are very easy to make and the best part is that they are done early. I've made them with red potatoes and this last time with a mix of new potatoes and yukon gold because that's what I had. Great with any potato probably. I do use a little more butter than the recipe calls for and I leave the skin on. So yummy!!

French Toast Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I just made these waffles for dinner. They were ok. I think this is a great base recipe. Next time I am going to double the cinnamon, add 1/4t. of nutmeg, and some diced apple. I think it will be really good with a few changes! :)

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
Pretty good! I tripled the recipe. I used 3/4c. white sugar and 1 1/2c. brown sugar, 1/4c. vegetable oil and 1/2c. applesauce, and a 29oz. can of pumpkin. I didn't use any cloves. I used 2t. of cinnamon, 1/2t. of nutmeg, and 1t. pumpkin pie spice. I also added 2t. of vanilla. I did not use chocolate chips, but next time I will try cinnamon chips. I used a cookie dough scoop to fill the muffin cups. I used 1 scoop for the mini muffins and 2 1/2 scoops for the regular. I sprinkled the tops with cinnamon sugar. The batch made 24 mini muffins (baked for 11 min.) and 24 regular muffins (baked for 20min). We are still eating them warm with butter! Very nice!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
Excellent recipe! I doubled this recipe because I had alot of zucchini. I did make a few changes: I used half oil, half applesauce, I used two cups of brown sugar and the rest white (note doubled recipe), and I added 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. I made 3 regular loaves and 3 mini loafs. The regular loaves took 62 minutes and the minis took 47 minutes. The bread is super moist and melts in your mouth! I gave several loaves away and everyone loved it. Thanks!

Cream Puff Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
Great recipe! I've made this a few times now. I've finally figured out how we like it best. First, I do add whipped chocolate frosting to the puff before adding the filling. Great touch! What I've found that has made the biggest difference is using Cook and Serve pudding. I've never cared for instant pudding in anything. I cook the pudding with the 4 cups of milk in a saucepan until boiling. I remove from heat, then add 8oz of WHIPPED cream cheese. It melts right in to the hot pudding (no lumps)for a smooth, rich texture. It's perfect! It cools while the puff is cooling. Even though it takes longer to make, I think it's totally worth it!

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
This is awesome!! I did bake the crust for 10min before adding the filling so it wouldn't be soggy. And I added 1 tsp of vanilla to the cream cheese mixture.
