Fennel and Orange Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
We thought this was a nice change. Very summery tasting. Next time I would chop the fennell and oranges into smaller bite size pieces. I made it the night before serving, next time I would make it two nights before. It was much better today for lunch. Less vinegar taseting.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
This soup is my family's absolute favourite. I always make three times the recipe. The only changes I made were that I add two cloves of garlic which I saute with the celery and onions before putting in the broth.

Savory Pork Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
We really liked this recipe. This is what we were searching for! We cooked in the slowcooker all night on low and re-heated for dinner. The milk was added right before serving. Did a basic rue and added it in. Definately be tossing out the other pork stew recipes.

Lemony Quinoa

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This was our first quinoa recipe. We liked it very much. Next time I'll back off a bit on the lemon juice. We sauteed the veggies as we don't care for raw onion. Will make again for sure. Might add garlic next time.

Asparagus Cashew Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
Excellent! My only changes were to use chicken stock and I sauted the cashews with the onions and garlic and left out the spaghetti. It was quick and very good. Definately make again.

Chicken Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
We really enjoyed this recipe. We doubled the ingredients. On Sundays I always try to cook double something to have a night off through the week. The only change was that we sauted the celery and onion and added fesh garlic.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
We really enjoyed this recipe. It tasted just like the butter chicken from our favourite Indian restaurant in Toronto. It just screams for a mango lassi. We served it with basmati rice.

Shish Tawook Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
We really enjoyed this recipe. We did think the cinnamon was quite strong. Next time I may back off the cinnamon a bit. Loved the sauce, we served the left over sauce with cut up pitas and cheese.

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
Fantastic! Yumo. Will definately make again. We used boneless skinless turkey as that is what we had. We may put red onion or peppers on the skewers next as well.

We really enjoyed this dessert. It was super fast for a week night dinner. We served it with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. Next time we will try with mandarin orange slices and whip cream.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
These sandwhiches were excellent! I mixed up the mayo and garlic the day before. We will definately make again. Far better than your local sub shop Philly Sandwhich.

Pork Medallions

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Excellent recipe for pork tenderloin. The only change we would make would be to increase the mushrooms to 1 cup. We served over egg noodles. Although, white wine would rock in the sauce.

We really enjoyed this recipe. We left out the garlic salt as well. I used 3 cloves of garlic. Would be nice for the BBQ.

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
This is a fabulous recipe. We double the recipe and I roast the squash, with carrots and two red peppers to soften and carmalize them. I saute the onions with celery before adding to the soup. My husband likes to sprinkle left over bacon on top of the soup at the time of serving.
