Alan was this evening's host and had quite a challenge.  He wanted to make jambalaya but he as well as a few others in our group (myself included) have major "eating spices" issues.  Well, I personally think he pulled it off.  All the proper flavor was there with very little of what comes back to haunt us.  Bravo!!

We ate and ate and ate.  He was afraid he had made too much,.  LOL!  I reminded him who he was talking to - I can do some serious eating!!  And I'm proud to say there was very little left over.

His boyfriend, Philip, made a very simple but great tasting Koren beef with broccoli.  We all chowed down pretty heartily on that, also.  It was so good. 

To finish off the evening he made this great looking trifle with orange liqueur soaking in to the cake at the bottom.  We all dove into this with the gusto it rightly deserved.

I'm proud to say we have a great little group.  What was such a struggle to put together has morphed into great events to look forward to.

Hi Dawn! The guys did a fabulous job! Such a nice group of friends - that can cook too! Hey, you have a group of AR friends that would love to spend time with you at the Vegas Round up 2012, if you can make it. I know, work comes first. Take care!

I'm hoping I can make it but I honestly won't know until last minute. I have RCI points there, so I'm not worried about a room. It's just a scheduling issue.

I do love broccoli, but I don't like it when it is Under cooked or over cooked. It does look like the broccoli was over cooked. Is that normal for Korean cooking? My wife tends to over cook broccoli so I normaly do the cooking.

I've never had jambalaya pasta, but how can you go wrong with THAT combo?? It was YUM! The Korean BBQ was great, too - sweet, tender beef....but you forgot that FABULOUS broccoli salad!!!! Oh, I could have eaten and eaten and eaten that - BUT my fave for the night was most definitely the trifle - orange liqueur was the "icing on the cake" for that baby, and again - dangerously "I could eat and eat and eat this" good! Well done, peeps! I'm kinda sad we don't get to meet up again for a while..... :(

You are right, Juli!! I forgot about the broccoli salad. It was divine! King Sparta@ - I know the broccoli looks overdone but it honestly wasn't. I detest mushy veggies of any kind. These were just the right amount of crunchy. I watched him make the dish. It was all very fast.
