My Dinner Club Experiences

This evening's host was Donya.  We had 13 attendees (a lot!)  Donya was so creative with her dinner.  She sent us all an invitation with a menu card that looked like the old chalkboard primers. 

The evening started out with crayons and coloring books - and we had a blast!!  While Donya was finishing up dinner, we were all fighting over the crayons.  Then we taped them all to the cabinets to display for the rest of the evening.  It was a hoot.

While the menu may have looked simplistic, it was far from that.  Her grilled cheese were made with artisan cheese on sourdough.  The tomato soup a wonderful tomato bisque (I asked for the recipe!). 

She served brats with onions and mushroom sauteed to perfection.  I have never considered mushroom on a brat.. it was awesome!!  Melted cheddar topped them off.  MM-MM!  This was sided by a sweet glazed carrots and apples.  Yes, I will be copying this.

Dessert was scrumptious with creme puffs hand dipped in chocolate, placed in a margarita glass and topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

Apple Juice was actually a very adult hard apple cider.  And Chocovine replaced chocolate milk.

This was such a fun evening.  Laid back, relaxed, just a great time.

Wasn't this our largest dinner to date?? FUN TIMES!!! I loved Donya's creativity with the menu, and WOW Dawn is right - the tomato bisque was creamy, warm, comforting, YUM! The brats were the perfect choice for a plump and juicy "grown up" hot dog!! Super fun night, with knock-your-socks-off food, as always!!
