Night went off well.

OMG!  I forgot to post how well the first dinner meeting went.  My beef wellingtons came out sooo good.  They could have been  little prettier, but that will come with practice.

Let's see; I started the night out with bacon wrapped fig and blue cheese appetizers with sweet jalapeƱo glaze.  Caesar salad with freshly made dressing, sauteed green beans with bacon (yes, more bacon!) and I can't remember what starchy side I went with - I can;t even tell what it is looking at the pic.. LOL.  I also made a small tortellini sald becasue I had one vegetarian there.

I thought people would stay about 2 hours - try 5!!!  It was a great evening of laughs and fun.

Our second meeting is this Saturday.  It's another member's turn to host.  She gave hints of something British.

I promise I'll post faster next time.
Bacon wrapped figs stuffed with feta and glazed with a sweet jalepeno sauce... and me!

Hi! Glad that the Wellingtons worked out. Your menu sounded good, and I'm not at all surprised that people stayed for five hours. I wonder what the next person will make! When I think British, I think fish sticks and fries.

LOL - I have no idea what it means to this hostess. I think of oxtails. LOL... she's a vegetarian... but will cook meat for her guests. So, I'm very curious.

I wish we lived closer - I would join your dinner club group in a heart-beat! Bacon wrapped figs - green beans sauteed with bacon - individual beef wellingtons - - - oh yea!!!! My kinda cook!!! I'm a chef/caterer so cooking is my passion and I would love to join in your group. Let's see I think I'd go with either a French or Mediterranean theme. British?? The first thing that comes to mind is pub-fare and a flambe pudding - but when mixed with good company, is a feast fit for a king! Have a good time!!

Your dinner looks awesome! When I think British I think of Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding. But seen as she is vegetarian I doubt if that will be her choice.

This was SUCH a fun night!! You set the tone for many memorable evenings to come, Dawn! AND the bacon-wrapped fig and blue cheese appetizers and beef wellington were both AMAZING!!! (Says the vegetarian! ;)) Let's do it again!!!
