Lemon Carrots and Rutabaga

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
This is just an awesome awesome dish. Easy to prepare and the results were excellent. If you have never tried rutabagas this is a great dish to start with and if you are a long time fan of the vegetable well this is a great twist eating them.

Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
My Husband and I have a quiet little Fondue for two party every holiday season and this recipe is our favorite by far! The only change I made was to rub garlic in in the pot before preparing the recipe.

Dave's Low Country Boil

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
This is a terrific, fun & easy meal to prepare. It had everyone talking as we presented it to the table. I put down newspaper to cover the table but I also used those cardboard box bottoms from the grocery store that hold the can goods on the shelves. Everyone filled up their "box plate" and it also served to contain the shells and cobs as they ate them. It made clean up very easy. I did also add a bag of crab boil to kick up the spiciness. And the warning about eating too much is true! I made this for Christmas Eve and everyone ate so much they couldn't move after dinner.

Tiger Butter II

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
This will be a new Holiday tradition in our house. I had everyone asking me for the recipe. It makes plenty to eat and still have enough to share with family & friends. I used smooth peanut butter instead crunchy and I also used the white chocolate bark in place of the regular white chocolate.

Swiss Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Easy, Quick and Yummy. I have made it several times. Usually just grab whatever "Cream of...soup" I have in the pantry to use, I even used Cream of Poblano soup once and that gave a nice bit of spice.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
This is great! I served it over white rice. I put it on to cook while we worked in the yard and it was a hearty and welcomed meal at the end of the day. I added a few tablespoon of Mustard style BBQ Sauce in with the rest of the ingredients. It's one of those meals that is great the 1st night and the leftovers are even better. We will be having this meal again! Thank you for sharing it.

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
I'm sorry and I do appreciate you sharing the recipe but we were very disappointed in it. I had a difficult time getting the onions to carmelize and then realized maybe I shouldn't have used grey salt for that. What I thought would be a fairly easy dish to prepare ended up taking 3 times as long to make and the ending was nothing like we expected. I ending up throwing the rest of it away. We both love French onion soup but this just wasn't the recipe for us.

Appetizer Mussels

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
This is a superb dish !!! We loved it so much that the next time I made it, I had to double the recipe. Serve with a baguette bread to soak up every delicious drop of the sauce. It's easy to prepare and the taste is out of this world.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
It just doesn't get any easier or yummier than this! What a awesome recipe. I put it on at lunch yesterday and when I got home from work I could smell that heavenly aroma as I got out of the car. I added a dash of Worcestershire along with what the recipe called for except I used dry onion soup mix and a can of water. I did let the meat set for 20 minutes on the cutting board before slicing (It was very tender) and while the meat was resting I took the Au Jus and put it on the stove top and cooked at a hard boil for about 15 minutes to condense the flavors. This recipe is going to be used over and over in our house. It's simply fantastic.

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
My Husband said it was the best tortillas soup he had ever had. I did make a few changes: used 3 cans of chicken broth (no water) and instead of regular canned tomatoes, I added 2 cans of Rotel tomatoes with Lime and Cilantro. Also added a few tablespoons of lime juice and some cumin. Excellent recipe. Thank your for sharing it.

Roasted Pears with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
We loved it, especially the way the sour cream complimented the sweetness of the caramel sauce. I kept thinking about this dish the next day and wishing I had made extra. Awesome recipe! Thank You.

Scrapple

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
Being from Texas, We had no idea what Scrapple was suppose to taste like but had seen it on a cooking show and so we thought why not give it a try. We loved it. Especially the sweetness from the condensed milk with the other flavors. I sliced it fairly thin and we preferred it fried crispy like bacon.

Blackened Tuna

PERFECTION! This recipe is spot on, the seasoning is perfect and it is so easy to prepare. I served it thinly sliced on a bed of spring mix lettuce with sliced tomatoes, green onions, candied walnuts and little Rothchild Farms Ginger Wasabi Sauce. Can't wait to make this dish again!

Baked Potato Soup III

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
Very Yummy! Although I did add an additional cup of milk at the end as it was too thick and I also added more salt and pepper but overall I was very pleased with the results and will make it again. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
I have been looking for 20 years for the perfect Mac-n-Cheese recipe and I have finally found it!! It was just the perfect blend of noodles and cheese and not too dry or too creamy. I used half regular milk and half evaporative milk. The only thing I will do different next time is to not add the bread crumbs as that is not something we were particularly crazy about but the recipe overall is a true winner.

New Orleans Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
Many years ago I had Barbeque Shrimp in New Orleans and I have never forgotten that dish but never seem to find a recipe that sounded close and so when I found this recipe I thought it would be worth trying. I have to say It Pretty Darn Tasty! Not too spicy and full of flavor. I served it with buttered fettuccine on the side and garlic bread. Just as good as the recipe I tried all those years ago.

Fettuccini Carbonara

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
Outstanding Dish and easy to make. The only change I made was that I used one and half cans of evaporative milk since I did not have any heavy cream. This is a recipe I well definitely make again and again!
