Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
4 out of 5 because the dough is so perfect its not even funny. The baking method is missing some steps to make them authentic tasting though. After I rolled my pretzels to shape, i boiled them individually just until they start to puff up in a mixture of 4 Cups water, 2.5 tablespoons of baking soda. At first I tried someone elses suggestion of 4 cups to 4 tablespoons, but they tasted aweful, like chemical salt, 2.5 seemed to do the trick without being overpowering. Salt with coarse salt immediately after removing from the water and bake for about 13 minutes at 400F, top rack of the oven, on parchment paper or a sil pad so the bottoms dont burn. While still hot baste with melted butter and/or your garlic, cinnamon whatever seasoning you prefer.

Soft Pretzels I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
so delicious! The dough was pretty tough and not elasticy at all, but that is likely due to my cold house and my water not being warm enough at the start, but regardless it turned out perfect! I used another recipes direction on baking, boiled them in a bath of 4cups water to 4 tablespoons of baking soda for approx. 1 minute turning once, and then baking at 400 degrees for 12-14 minutes, top or middle rack so they dont burn. Baste with butter once cooked and they are delicious!

Easy Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
I really wish I hadn't listened to the comment that said to add cumin, it ruined the hummus taste. But aside from that this is very good. I used real garlic instead, I dont believe in garlic powder!

Indian Tandoori Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
we used fresh lemon instead of lemon juice, the recipe was so delicious, especially when we let it marinate the full 24 hours.

Jamaican Beef Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
These are delicious! However, I found I only had enough pastry to make 5, so I doubled the pastry recipe. The curry that I used was mild, so I added 2 tsp of Sambal Oelek (indian chilli paste) to the beef mixture. Turned out perfect! Thanks for a great recipe.
