Double Layer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
My 17 year old son told me I was a pie making magician when he tasted this! Make sure you read some of the other modifications from other reviewers... I used 1 tbsp of chilled evaporated milk in addition to the 1 tbsp of half and half (instead of the called for milk) in the bottom layer to make it more solid. I also substituted half and half for the called for regular milk in the top pumpkin layer. Next time I'll probably use a little evaporated milk in the top layer, too, to make it a bit more dense. I also made my own graham cracker crust - which I think is much tastier than the store bought. This pie will be a new favorite at holiday dinners... we loved it!!

These always go fast when I make them! They are loved by my family and friends. I follow the recipe as is, except for adding in a few extra sprinkles of garlic salt, salt and pepper!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Hubby said it was better than any restaurant soup! I added julienned carrots, more potatoes, more ham and a bit more onions and garlic. You can definately add or subtract to your taste and this will still come out fabulous!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I was always scared to make fudge... I guess I was under the impression it was difficult. This was SO easy to make and came out absolutley fabulous! I followed the recipe just as stated and it was chocolatey, creamy and delicious! This will be a staple recipe for us during the holidays! My husband couldn't believe how good it was! I let him think I slaved over the stove to make it! LOL!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
FABULOUS!!! I doctored this up a bit by adding 4 cloves of chopped garlic to the slow cooker after the meat, veggies and soup mix were in. I also used salt, pepper and season-all on the meat when I browned it in the skillet. I have a 5 quart slow cooker and used 5 pounds of chuck roast, 6 small/medium red potatoes, a small bag of baby carrots, 3 celery stalks, about a 1/2 cup chopped onions and the garlic, . My slow cooker was FULL! I think the onion soup mix is what makes this sooooo good! I let is cook on low for 8 hours, only opened the slow cooker lid twice - and it came out FABULOUS!!! My family LOVED it and my hubby even said this is better than any he's had in a restaurant before. This is my new favorite slow cooker recipe and will be made many more times!! :)
