Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2015
Very good, but I have changed it to suit our taste...I double the recipe, use olive oil in place of butter, and add fresh minced garlic and dried parsley. After I cut the potatoes, I rinse and DRAIN them, and then use a paper towel to further dry them. This helps the mixture stick to the potatoes. I mix the oil, honey, mustard, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper in a small bowl, then pour onto the potatoes and onions in a larger bowl, mix to coat and pour all onto a foil lined baking sheet. Stir at least once about halfway during cooking time. Salty and sweet!

Mom's Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2013
Okay, these are the best chocolate chip cookies ever. I surfed the web researching possible reasons for why the Toll House recipe never works for me . . . they always spread out flat. I am a pretty accomplished baker (I am known for a few items in particular and am expected by my family and fellow church members to bring them to any special event)I recalled that when I was a girl, my mother used to put pudding in her choco-chip and chocolate choco-chip cookies, and they were always delectible. My mom has passed, and before bothering my dad to check her huge recipe box, I turned to Allrecipes, as I have done at least 10,000 times before! This recipe tastes exactly how I remember mom's tasting, and they come out absolutely beautiful (I always use my Pampered Chef scoops, small or medium, depending on mood). They are perfectly crispy on the outside, but chewy on the inside, perfect taste. I most recently brought them to the Baltimore Ravens last play-off game party at my Pastor's house. The Ravens lost but the cookies were a winner! Not one left. Don't change anything. This recipe is perfect! Thanks!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Not sure why people had trouble with these cookies turning out flat. I followed the recipe exactly and they were VERY puffy. The taste and texture are excellent...as good or better than any specialty cookie store. Baked for 10 minutes, they came out crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. These will make it into my regular cookie rotation!

Autumn Apple Salad II

I was looking for a way to make the fruit in my kids' lunch boxes more exciting....this is so awesome! We left out the almonds and substituted cherry flavored and pomegranate flavored Craisins. My kids are crazy for this!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
This is hands down the best pizza crust recipe I've tried! Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I used 2 metal pan, greased and sprinkled with corn meal. I allowed the crust to rise the additional 15 minutes after I spread it in the pans. Added sauce, cheese and toppings (NO prebaking) and put them in the mid/lower part of the oven (the one on the bottom rack was crispier). They not only tasted fantastic, but looked professional! They rose beautifully and came out just perfect. This is it! The search is over!

Country White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
My family really loved this bread. I substituted 1 cup of whole wheat flour for 1 of the cups of white. I'm a big believer in proofing the yeast first and I did so by dissolving the sugar (I only used 1/8 instead of 1/4) in the water. I used a thermometer to be sure the water was 115 degrees. I then added the yeast and stirred well to dissolve. I waited for about 5 minutes until the creamy foam formed on the top and it began to expand and then added it to the other ingredients. I made one plain loaf and one cinnamon swirl. Both loaves are more than half gone already. Will definitely make again.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
This recipe is the bomb! I used 3 chicken breasts but kept the sauce ingredients the same, simply because I thought too much sauce would be better than not enough. I used frozen breasts, and cooked on HIGH for 3 hours, removed and shredded chicken, and place back in pot for 1 more hour on LOW. I used frozen breasts and after 3 hours on high it shredded beautifully and was super moist and perfectly cooked. My husband inhaled this! The whole family loved it. This one will be part of the regular rotation. Super fast prep, no fuss, perfect results.
