Doubletree Hotel's Cookies

Good recipe. I agree with the others the actual cookies are more dense and crumbly. I cooked mine 6 minutes longer then directed and they were still chewy and barely brown around the edges. I did cool on a wire rack. Also, this particular recipe really needs the walnuts to hold it together. Don't make the mistake I did and make a batch with none. The ones with walnuts were shaped correctly but without the cookie melts before it bakes and turns into a giant cookie pancake.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes

Delicious pancakes. Mine turned out somewhere between a crepe and a pancake which is excellent because they are very moist. I hate dry pancakes. I found the recipe to also be very forgiving if you tend to burn stuff (Me? Never!). Even after having them on a hot griddle until they were a dark golden brown they were still very moist. Not sure why I always get a slight metallic aftertaste with my pancakes. I think maybe I should use less baking powder? My girlfriend suggested letting it sit longer. Admittedly I was hungry and didn't wait the full hour. Either way I know that's probably something I'm doing wrong and not the recipe. I can't wait to make them for my girlfriend! Thanks for sharing.

Apple Crisp II

Fantastic! I used eight medium to medium large Braeburn apples. I cut and peeled the apples into eights and laid then opposing directions in the pan. I diced the last apple to fill in the gaps. I doubled the cinnamon but used good stuff from a local spice store, china cassia I think? I also added the same amount of freshly ground nutmeg. I served it with Bryer's Double Churn ice cream, the kind without Splenda. Very tasty and not too heavy. My mom has made apple crisp my whole life and it's one of my favorite desserts. She said this was better then hers. That's saying something considering how well she cooks. Thanks for sharing it.
