Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
Not only were we not fans of the flavor the chicken was nowhere near cooked enough after one hour. I will say this - the chicken stayed moist, which I was surprised at given the high cooking temp.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
I've made these on numerous occasions in the crock pot, keeping the setting on low for 2-3 hours before serving to heat and crystallize the sugar and cook the bacon. Test with your slow cooker, however, for cooking time. They are sweet and savory and loved by everyone.

Touchdown Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2014
There was an odd, sweet flavor to the recipe. I don't know if it was the cumin or beer. I typically add brown sugar to recipes with tomatoes but the sweetness was not what I expected. I did not add the chili powder or Tabsco, however, as we do not like spicy foods.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

This was perfect for my family of 2. We halved the recipe quite easily. Tasty, easy to prep - couldn't ask for better. We will definitely make it again.

Roasted Vegetable Orzo

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2012
Completely yummy!! And substantial enough to act as an entree. My teenager made this and it was incredible. Good levels of flavor, though not alot of texture if that's important to you. The wine and chicken broth added to the pasta water is something we will mimic in other dishes. We cooked for 25 minutes but would only do 20 next time as some of the smaller veggies were a little burned. Other than that...absolutely no complaints.

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
We loved it! Made a few changes but nothing significant - didn't put the sour cream in the layers nor did I char the tortillas. I made a 1/2 recipe because I was only cooking for 2 and it was more than enough for leftovers for lunch the next day which is always great. This had a good flavor, was very moist and heated up well in the microwave.

Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
this was so yummy!! very rich and creamy without being heavy. i used fresh spinach instead of frozen and left the ham a little more chunky for some texture. the way it's layered as you make it makes the two pies easy to prepare.

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
Excellent stew!! I don't normally like a stew with alot of tomatoes but the beef broth really calms down the acidic flavor of the tomatoes and makes this a great dish. We did cut down the on cooking time by an hour, arriving at home at 5 doesn't really give you 2 hours to cook. So we simmered the first part for 30 mins, added the veggies cut small for another 45 and served. It was perfect!! The beef was tender, the veggies cooked without being mushy. This is definitely one of our keepers!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2011
The pie is absolutely yummy and soooooo beautiful you almost hate to eat it. Of course we got over that very quickly. The only complaint I have is that by using the recipe's 8 apples we had enough apples for 4 pies. Will try this again and add some cinnamon or nutmeg.

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
The pudding is quite easy to make but has an off-taste. Not bad just not your typical chocolate pudding taste you're expecting. I might try it again - the ingredients are things you easily have on hand - but couple it with some whipped cream or maybe use it with a Mississippi Mud Cake.

Peppermint Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
While the fudge was easy to make, I found it dry and heavy. The texture was just not very pleasant. I'd also leave out the peppermint extract - I found the flavor overwhelming.

Squash Stuffing Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I accidentally used cream of mushroom soup for this recipe and it was still great. My friends raved about it. I'd leave out the carrots next time though, and add apples for a little more sweetness.

Poblano Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Too much cilantro. We left out the peppers because neither of us like spicy. Added salt at the table which was greatly needed but don't know if that was because we didn't use the peppers. Otherwise it was ok. Not sure we would make it again.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I couldn't believe how flavorful this stuffing turned out to be! Of course, being a "little of this, alot of that" kind of cook, I used raisins instead of cranberries and didn't measure the seasonings but it didn't matter. Everyone gobbled this up and I didn't have any leftovers! I'll definitely make again and make more next time.
