Lemonade Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2012
I've made this before with the lemonade, and it's always a hit - I've also started making it with powdered orange drink (You know, the one the astronauts like ;) ) and it comes out really good as well.

Sweet Potato Pie IX

I come back to this recipe every year for Thanksgiving. I've even told people how to look it up directly by name. I do tend to go with a graham cracker crust, but that is the only thing I change

Spider Cupcakes

Love the idea, especially as a licorice fan. As for finding blank shoestring licorice, a quick Google search shows a number of online 'nostalgia' merchants selling it. Plan ahead!

Egg Sandwich

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
I do something like this myself - I generally just pierce the yolk instead of scrambling. One tip on the cheese-melting: If you have a toaster-oven, you can set it on 'Broil' and stick the bottom half of the sandwich (1 pc. toast, egg, slice of cheese) in the little pan and let it cook for 1-2 minutes. No soggy bread!

Slumber Party Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
I substituted ham, because I had it, and ended up baking it longer in a 9" pan, but it makes for a fabulously easy quiche. Even the resident 'Real Man' was caught sneaking a piece.

Hot Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
I was trying to mix flavor and frugality, and went looking for a recipe that didn't require a lot of shopping. All I had to buy was the soy sauce. It was very easy to prepare, and surprisingly, my little finicky one who 'no longer likes peanut butter sandwiches' ate all of her noodles. The zucchini we added didn't rate as high on her list, unfortunately. One thing I'll say is that the heat of the sauce sort of sneaks up on you, very much like the peanut sauce I've had in Thai restaurants state-side.

Leftover Chicken a la King

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
One thing I notice is that there's no mention of bringing the mixture to a boil after adding the cornstarch. This may be why some people haven't been able to get the gravy to thicken.

Easy Alfredo Sauce III

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2008
One thing that might help with the clumping of the egg yolks - and I'm surprised that the original recipe doesn't mention it - would be to temper the eggs by mixing a measure of the hot sauce to the beaten eggs before putting them into the saucepan. It's a fairly common technique with Hollandaise and other sauces.
