About this Cook
Currently, I'm a stay at home mama. My daughter was born at home in August, and we are two very happy homebodies! Soon, I'll be heading back to school to work on my Master's, but in the mean time you'll find me thoroughly enjoying book time, and play time, and cook time!
My favorite things to cook
Typically vegetarian, and I like spicy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Before relocating, my husband and I often enjoyed Sunday dinners with my parents. My mom does a lot of traditional, American cooking, and has pretty much taught me everything I know about the frying and baking basics. And, of course, every year we bake and decorate Christmas cookies at Grandma's (except this year as we are too far away).
My cooking tragedies
Anything involving yeast. I've tried many times to bake a loaf of bread (without a machine, of course), and I have failed miserably each and every time.

Chocolate Zucchini Cake III
This was wonderful! Unfortunately, half way through prep I realized I only had two eggs, so I threw in a cup of applesauce. I also followed the advice of other reviewers and reduced the oil by half and used applecause instead...so the cake was kind of a choc. zucchini applesauce cake. I also used full fat cocoa powder, so who knows if it was unsweetened or not? Great, great cake!

Texas Lizzies
Wow! This is a wonderful recipe; and has been a big hit in my family (even for those who are disgusted by fruitcake). Though, instead of the red and green candied cherries, I used a candied fruit mix because that's what my husband brought home from the store (candied fruit isn't the easiest thing to find, afterall). Thanks for the great recipe!
