Well, we like sushi - the boring stuff mostly.  California rolls are my fav!  We have gone to Blue, an awesome sushi restaurant.  Ate salmon, and some other stuff I can't recall LOL. Well watching the Cooking Chanel the other day one of the shows went over making your own… MORE

About this Cook
I started cooking at a very young age. I loved to help my mom in the kitchen and learned the basics pretty early. I love to cook and learn new techniques.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy all types of food, but I love to grill in the summertime. I am always looking for something creative!
My favorite family cooking traditions
During Thanksgiving and Christmas we always have lefsa, a Swedish flatbread made with potatoes. It's a long time tradition and is the first thing everyone looks for snacking on when they walk through the door!
My cooking triumphs
I remember my first lemon meringue pie... I was so nervous it would burn or wouldn't taste good and it was PERFECT!

Best Apple Crisp Ever
Watch the video! Make sure you mix the dry ingredients; mix the butter & egg and then hand mix the egg/butter into to mix. Form crumbles by hand; makes a GREAT crisp. The only thing I change is use half white half brown sugar in the topping and add some vanilla. YUM!

Riblets and Sauce
Thanks for the great recipe! I did triple the sauce (minus salt) because we love lots of sauce. I also used brown sugar, based on other reviews. Marinated in about half the sauce or so, and kept the rest for brushing while I was grilling and for dipping. My plan was to marinate overnight, but ended up in the fridge for 2 days. Savory, tangy, awesome ribs. I grilled with no issues of burning, just kept turning frequently until heated thru. This one is a keeper!

World's Best Lasagna
First advice: watch the video! I've never layered my noodles like they suggest, but am glad I tried something new. By overlapping 6 noodles lenghtwise, it seems to cut better and hold up better, presentation wise. I ended up simmering the sauce for about 3 hours. No italian seasoning, so I used some oregano, rosemary and marjoram(I did reduce the sugar and salt by half) Didn't have tomato sauce, so I substituted a can of crushed tomatoes and omitted the water. I also had leftover sauce, but had made some extra noodles, so used that to do lasagne roll ups! This is my new GO TO sauce, the sweet sausage makes all the difference, THANK YOU!
