Well, we like sushi - the boring stuff mostly.  California rolls are my fav!  We have gone to Blue, an awesome sushi restaurant.  Ate salmon, and some other stuff I can't recall LOL.

Well watching the Cooking Chanel the other day one of the shows went over making your own sushi rolls, yum!  So we are going to give it a try.

My "man" is going to get some nori and that hot sauce they use.  My job is to make the sushi rice and of course the rolls!

Should be interetsting... will update soon!

I found a recipe for the rice on cooking channel I think, from Alton Brown... I love his show!
We have made sushi 2 times now!

First time we used the nori paper on the outside. So nori, then spread the rice all over, then added crab, avacado, cucumber and sarachi sauce (not sure how to spell that!) It was a BLAST!

Second time we tried the rice on the outside, and still used crab, avacado, cucumber and sarachi, but added some red onion. Having the nori on the outside is much easier! If I can, I will load some pics!

I've made it. Especially fun if you have a crowd so you can have several ingredients. What recipe are you using for the vinegared rice?

I love Sushi too Sarah, MK is right. I had Sushi Classes at my house with a total of about 20 ladies. It was a hoot! And, now I can CONFIDENTLY make Sushi whenever we want it, which is about twice a week. Check out the blog I posted about it. http://allrecipes.com/Cook/13158211/BlogEntry.aspx?postid=203277

About Me
I started cooking at a very young age. I loved to help my mom in the kitchen and learned the basics pretty early. I love to cook and learn new techniques.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy all types of food, but I love to grill in the summertime. I am always looking for something creative!
My favorite family cooking traditions
During Thanksgiving and Christmas we always have lefsa, a Swedish flatbread made with potatoes. It's a long time tradition and is the first thing everyone looks for snacking on when they walk through the door!
My cooking triumphs
I remember my first lemon meringue pie... I was so nervous it would burn or wouldn't taste good and it was PERFECT!
