Pumpkin Pancakes

These were delightful! I made them exactly as the recipe states. I used homeade buttermilk syrup and freshly whipped whipping cream with pecans on top. YUMMO!! Definitely a keeper!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

This was alright. My dh really liked it, but I just thought it was okay. The kids didn't really care for it. I used my apple peeler/corer/slicer for the apples, which was a breeze. However, I found that while I was caramelizing the apples, there wasn't much sauce afterwards. Next time I will make more sauce with the apples.

Easy Pavlova

For some reason I had a bit of difficulty with this recipe. I guess I was expecting it to be a bit more "fluffy." It came out kind of flat, but tasted okay. I had it with fresh strawberries, as I didn't have kiwi at the time. It was a bit too sweet for me.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

This recipe is very time consuming, but oh sooooo worth it!! I used oreo cookies (doubled the amount to about 1 3/4 c.) and omited the sugar. The crust was very tasty. I did added a bit more white chocolate to the chocolate/half & half mixture (about 1/3 c. more) I also double the amount of the raspberry sauce. I know the sauce is a bit time consuming, but I think it really needs the tartness instead of sweet jam. Just my opinion. I added a bit more sauce to the cake and baked it(with a pan of water directly underneath on lower shelf) with help from this sites suggestions. I also turned the oven off after 55 minutes, and let the cheesecake sit in the oven for about 2-3 hours with the door slightly open. Then I placed it in the refrigerator overnight. I added more raspberry sauce on top with shaved white chocolate and a bit of whipping cream "dabs" around the ends. It turned out FANTASTIC! This is definitely a keeper!

Dirt Cake I

This is a fun recipe! I made the sand version for my dd's preschool class about 2 weeks ago. They loved it! I use chocolate pudding when making the "dirt" cake, and add gummy worms and the "candy" rocks. It adds a nice crunch. I used vanilla pudding for the "sand" cake, and added bug gummies. For decoration, I colored coconut blue (ocean) and added teddy grahams lounging on foot roll up towels with a drink umbrella. I also put some teddy's in gummy lifesaver "rings" in the water. SUGGESTION: Before adding whipping cream, make the pudding until nice and thick. Then add the whipping cream. It works much better! Enjoy!

Brie Cheese Appetizer

This recipe is to die for, if you like brie. I used crescent rolls, and added sliced almonds inside with the apricot preserve. I served with crackers and granny smith apples. Yum!!

Simple BBQ Ribs

Very simple rib recipe! I will definitely try this again. My ribs were a little tough, but I'm not sure why. I boiled them for about 40-45 minutes. Next time I will either boil them for an hour and then let them marinate in the water for a while longer or cook them in the slow cooker. Then bake them with the barbeque sauce. I like lots of BBQ sauce, so I added extra about 5 minutes before they were to come out of the oven.

World's Best Potato Salad

Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

This is a very good and simple salad! I took it to a brunch and everyone was asking for the recipe. I had never made candied walnuts before. They were so simple and a definite must! You definitely do not need all that sugar to candy the walnuts. I cut the sugar back a bit and they were perfect. Thanks for the recipe!

Strawberry and Feta Salad

I was a little skeptical about this salad, especially the dressing. BUT, this salad was first rate and the dressing was wonderful! My dh raved about it (which is rare!!). I used the packaged Spring Mix salad instead of the Romaine. I also did not have raspberry vinegar, so I used half red wine vinegar and half raspberry vingrette. We'll definitely make this again!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

I made this with the suggested changes: chicken broth, season (seasoning salt, parsley, garlic powder) the chicken before putting them into the crockpot. I also added the "cubed" hashbrowns instead of regular potatoes. I also only used 1 can of bisquits. It turned out fabulous. My husband raved about it. It was definitely a "comfort" food.
