My favorite things to cook
I have recently found a passion for baking bread. My first loaf w/o a bread machine was a hit and I've been working on my bread making skills ever since.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother was a traditional german woman and she knew her cooking. To her, food was love and no one ever went hungry in her house. She used to make us cookies every year for Christmas. She couldn't do that anymore when she went into the nursing home 8 years ago, and she passed on to the sumemrlands a little over a year ago. I have decided to pick up her tradition. I just hope I do her cookies justice.
My cooking triumphs
I love to make chicken curry, and it's always been a success. As a freshman in college, I decided to make her encrusted lamb on a whim. It was a hit. Bread, of course has been a recent success.
My cooking tragedies
My first jelly roll was a failure. I want to try again some day, but I haven't got around to it yet.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
I don't know what I was expecting with this recipe, but I did not get it. The dough was very difficult to work with and the cookies just didn't have the zip I thought they would have. It wasn't a bad recipe, by any means, but it did fall flat of my expectations.

Holiday Pumpkin Bread
I made this bread for Christmas presents this year and received rave reviews! My only complaint is the bake time. My bread turned out a bit on the dark side, so I think I would decrease it by ten minutes. Other than that, it was beautiful and very tasty!

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes and Asparagus
My boyfriend and I made this recipe a part of our date night this week. It was wonderful. I read some of the reviews that mentioned it had too much rosemary and thyme, but I like both herbs very much and had no problem at all with it. I left the asparagus whole, b/c I forgot I was supposed to cut them up, but it was fantastic. The potatoes were nice and crispy and the asparagus was wonderfully tender. Thank you for sharing.
