Old-Fashioned Shortcake

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2012
Good flavor! I omitted the nutmeg and I added 1 tsp of REAL vanilla. Note: the baking time/temp needs adjusted. I'd suggest lowering temp to 350 and baking longer. I followed the recipe (450/15) and it was really dark on the outside but the middle was still gooey.

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
Amazing! I used canola oil in place of the shortening and regular ww flour in place of the ww bread flour. They turned out so good!!! Just ate two for lunch with chopped tomatoes & avocado inside. YUM! Will never buy store ww tortillas again!

Million Monster Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
Delicious! I made this recipe for a Christmas cookie exchange a few weeks ago. It made over 14 dozen cookies using a medium-sized cookie scoop with a baking time of 14 minutes per cookie sheet. I left out the nuts and used 3 cups of M&Ms, 3 cups of chocolate chips and just over 2 cups of the shredded coconut instead. They were great! They stacked well in cellophane bags tied with Christmas ribbon - a dozen per stack was tall! Will freeze well, too! I made them again last week and quartered the recipe (using 2 eggs) and it made just over 3 dozen - a lot easier to make in a small batch. ;O)

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
Absolutely the best chai tea mix!!! I've made this for numerous people this Christmas season and all have given it rave reviews and asked for the recipe! I found Cardamom a lot less expensive at a World Market store. The only change I made to the recipe is that I reduced the sugar to 1 1/2 cups and used decaf instant tea.

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
Delicious and great as leftovers! I used 2-3 tablespoons of minced garlic instead of the whole cloves of garlic. I also sliced an entire onion into the crockpot as another reviewer suggested. Once the beef was done, I shredded it and placed it on toasted french bread with provolone cheese, a bit of mayo and the onion slices. Mmmmm! It also made great leftovers as I assembled the sandwiches cold then broiled them for a few minutes before serving.
