About this Cook
I bake a ton in the winter! When it is cold there is nothing I would rather do than bake a few dozen cookies. I have a toddler who loves chocolate so she is a happy girl in the cold months. Life has gotten so busy so I am looking for good slow cooker recipes. But I have two picky eaters in my midst, so it is hard to find things that will be acceptable to them!
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE to bake sweets--- cookies, cakes and candies!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, for Christmas we would have a tree-decorating party the first Friday of December and all we would make for dinner was tons of appetizers! Yummy! We would also make hundreds of homemade chocolates for gifts for our family at Christmas. I LOVED it!
My cooking triumphs
I still remember one Valentine's Day in college, there we were, three single girls not sure what to do ... so we watched Sex in the City and I baked a cheesecake for the very first time in a square pan in my teeny tiny little dorm room oven. It was delicious!!!
My cooking tragedies
I can't seem to BBQ chicken with skin, it always catches on fire and burns!!!! I had to cook dinner three times one night because I burnt all the chicken twice :(

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
BEST oatmeal cookies I have ever had or made. I don't bother chilling the dough, just drop onto the cookie sheet by the tablespoonful ... Makes nice big chewy cookies. Delicious.

Naan
Very good. I only used 3 cups of all purpose flour (plus 1/2 cup for the kneading surface) but we live in a dry climate. Cooking on the BBQ went well but it took longer than 2-3 minutes a side, after cooking I put in our oven warming drawer on med-high for about 20 minutes ... Dough was a little sweeter than I would have liked, and after it cooled it was quite hard ... not good for leftovers, but it was good fresh.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III
Very good, however you MUST make them with a teaspoon ... I used a tablespoon and that is tooooo much cookie. Better when bite-sized! My dough was perfect and I rolled them into balls first to get a nice round shape and then I pressed them flat with the bottom of a glass (greased) and they looked very professional.
