This is so much better than my Mom's recipe. A keeper, for sure! Thank you for sharing.

Potatoes Au~ Gratin

Very good recipe. I have not met many people who know how to make a good roux. I think that I'll be making this recipe tonight. Thank you for sharing, and showing me how to go about on this site.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
I've been making this very same recipe for years. My grandmother was Polish, and she taught me this recipe. I add a bay leaf, a garlic pod, and sometimes a small carrot in the cavity. Thanks for sharing.

Chocolate Almond Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
My husband and I aren't very big on almond extract, so I just simply left it out. He said that it tasted just like the one his Mom used to make, except that she would serve it over cooked white rice, since none of the people in his family liked the regular rice pudding recipes. Fantastic recipe! Thanks a bunch for sharing!!!! I will definately be making this quite often!

French Onion Soup with Homemade Beef Stock

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
This is a bit time consuming, but the results are very much worth the wait. I didn't discard the veggies, though. They had way too much flavour left in them. I puréed them in my blender, and made a cream of veggie soup that we had the next day. It was awsome! Thanks for this wonderful (and wonderfully flavored) recipe. This is definately a keeper!

Runza Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
I grew up with a recipe very much like this one. I was raised by my Polish grandmother and my Russian grandfather and meals like this were just about always a staple food. I'd almost forgotten how good these tasted. We'd have these over macaroni when my Grams didn't have time to bake. Sometimes my 'Djeda' (Russian for Grampa) replaced the fresh cabbage with saurkraute because he loved to cook even more than my Grams. Any which way that was decided to eat this meal, it was always fantastic. Thank you for bringing back many cherished memories with this great recipe.

Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
Mmm, mmm, good. I didn't have the pimentos, but I did have a can of red kidney beans, so I used that instead. I also added 2 finely chopped garlic cloves along with 1/2 a tsp of sugar and this came out really good. To me, this is a 5 star keeper. Thanks for sharing.

Double Decker Tacos

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
Great recipe. The only change that I made was to omit the hard taco shells since hubby has a hard time eating them. So soft tacos it was, and they were really delish, too. Thanks for sharing

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
I cut the salt ratio in half, added 1/2 tsp of sugar and substituted smoked paprika for the regular because I was all out. Then I marinated the chicken (6 lber) over night. The rest of the recipe was a cinch to follow. Thanks for sharing.

Sloppy Joe Pizza

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
I've been making something like this for over 25 years now. For a bit more pizza authenticity, I add 1/2 a red pepper (sliced) along with some sliced black olives on top (and sliced mushroom under the 3 cheeses). Sometimes, I will make mini meatballs instead of just plain ground beef. I feel very lucky because all 4 of my children and all of my grandchildren love veggies, so this pizza is one of their favorites to eat in the summer. Thank you for sharing.
